Individual reports to the Collection System Manager. Job Standards A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Employee must have a valid Ohio Driver's License, Commercial Driver's License class B with necessary endorsements or ability to obtain within 12 months of employment, and an acceptable driving record. Must meet and maintain qualifications for driving on County business at all times, including insurability. Collections Laborers will be required to complete and pass their Ohio EPA Class I Collections certification test within eighteen (18) months of their employment. All required licenses and certifications must be maintained as a condition of continued employment. Essential Functions * Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance; * Inspects the existing sewer system for Inflow & Infiltration (I & I), blockages, and odors; * Read and interpret blueprints, standard drawings and equipment manuals; * Repairs manholes and perform routine maintenance on wet wells, force mains and gravity lines; * Assist in the maintenance of the grounds throughout the Sewer District including but not limited to Regional plants, package plants, Lift Stations, and Sewer Easements; * Assists with treatment plant and pump station tank cleaning; * Assists with manhole inspection program; * Operate collection system equipment; e.g. Vac Truck, Jet truck, Sewer Camera systems, Air release valves, and in-line valves, etc.; * Must follow safety practices as required by the County; e.g. Arc flash safety, chemicals and associated SDS's, Lock Out/Tag Out, Confined Space, CPR and first aid, gas monitoring equipment, safe climbing practices, forklift operation, crane operations, etc; * Responds timely to declared county emergencies and other emergency situations that may require the use of equipment to protect the public health; * Maintains readiness and have the ability to properly use portable generators, portable pumps, and all other emergency response equipment; * Operates, calibrates, and maintains chemical feed systems for odor control throughout the sewer district; * Assists with composite sampling at site locations of industrial/commercial accounts; Regularly cleans the field sampling equipment, maintains, and orders replacement parts, as needed; * Clears blocked sewer lines; * Assists with mainline point repairs; * Implements Work Zone safety plans including but not limited to road closures, lane restrictions and right of way work; * General knowledge and ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and other asset management software; * Attends various training sessions, video conferences, and workshops. * Performs typing, word processing, and related computer operations; * Works overtime and outside of typical work schedule/business hours as required; and * Other duties as assigned. Safety training by the company will be required for all team members. Out-of-town work is probable and may require travel of up to three weeks away from home at a time. Dependable attendance and punctuality are critical. Responsibilities * Ensures adherence to safe work practices and procedures. * Successfully masters safety training and completes hazard recognition; the daily Stop, Look, Assess, and Manage (SLAM) Booklet; and Task Hazard Analysis (THA) forms. * Knows the safety procedures and performs thorough reviews of the operator/user manuals prior to operating any power tools or equipment. * Cleans and prepare construction site to eliminate possible hazards. * Signals equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials. * Trenches and backfills excavations and compacts and levels earth to grade specifications using shovels, picks, rakes, and tampers. * Positions, aligns, joins, and seals structural components, such as concrete structures, pipe, and culverts. * Accurately measures, marks, and records openings and distances as may be required for record drawings. * Loads, unloads, and identifies materials and tools and distributes them to the appropriate location. * Sets up traffic control zones, barricades, signage, ramps, and other temporary safety devices as deemed necessary by the site safety plan. * Assists in seed bed preparation and mulching of seeded areas by means of engine powered straw blowers or by hand if necessary. * Labors to assist in the installation of erosion control measures on environmental projects. * Performs/assists with SWPPP inspections as required. * Operates utility tractor, roller compactor, skid steer, off-road dump truck. Kwest General superintendents and the director of field operations will recommend for a team member's classification compensation advancement or reclassification. Kwest Group president will review each recommendation and give the final approval for a classification compensation advancement or reclassification. An approved recommendation is then forwarded to the Director of HR for execution of advancement or reclassification. The team member's foreman and general superintendent will discuss with the team member regarding their evaluation and any change in compensation or classification. Education and Qualifications * Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required. * The average work week would consist of 5 ten-hour days, but schedule will be dictated by project needs. * ust be able to work out of town, sometimes out of state, and for lengths of time, such as the job would dictate. * A high school diploma, GED, or trade school certificate is preferred. * Your skills and certifications are valuable, and Kwest recognizes it. Job Description: Summary: Perform many different tasks, such as, clean-up, demolition, and stocking materials. Ensures that all trades on the project have what is needed to complete the job. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Load, transport, unload, and furnish Journeyman with materials, tools, equipment, and supplies. Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary. Erect scaffolding, shoring, and braces. Build concrete forms Perform variety of tasks involving use of hands and tools, such as demolishing buildings, sawing lumber, and dismantling forms. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must be able to work rapidly and accurately with hands. Must be able to repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure. Must be able to climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding and carry tools and equipment. Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at heights as required. Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing 50 - 100 pounds. Must be able to use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects. Must be able to follow specific directions. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods. Must be able to judge straight lines, spaces, and proportions. Must be able to read and understand measuring tools and levels. Must be able to compare and see differences in the size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects. Education and Experience: Some construction experience is preferred.
