This position will drive to different veterinary practices in the Jackson metro area on scheduled routes to pick up clinical specimens and delivering them to the MVRDL. The individual will drive Mississippi State University fleet vehicles.
Minimum Qualifications:
This individual will require a valid driver's license, good driving record, familiarity with GPS, and strong time management and customer service skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent telephone and email communication skills, especially related to client service.
Must be capable of working in a team environment comprised of doctors, staff, and students to provide veterinary care of patients and aid in the instruction of veterinary students and veterinary technology students.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assists faculty and staff with demonstrations and/or projects.
2. Operates farm equipment.
3. Assists with plot/bed preparation, planting, cultivating, fertilizing, applying herbicide, harvesting of crops, and hay production.
4. Assists with farm animals.
5. Performs general maintenance on buildings and grounds to include fences, gates, feed troughs, etc.
6. Assists with cleaning and servicing vehicles and equipment.
7. Assists with building, demonstration area and facilities appearance upkeep.
8. Mows grass, weeds, and paints, and cleans as directed.
9. Performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. High school education or GED.
2. Must have a valid driver's license.
3. Must be able to meet supervisor expectations, which may include on average 20 hours per week with schedule to be determined by supervisor.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Farm-related work experience beyond the minimum required.
2. Previous experience with farm operations.
3. Previous experience operating and maintaining farm equipment.

Mechanical and technical skills related to essential duties and responsibilities.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
1. Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
2. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to

3. Will operate and work in close proximity with heavy farm equipment.
4. Possible contact with herbicides and pesticides.
5. Must be willing to occasionally work assignments outside of normal business hours to include weekend hours.

The individual serves under the general direction of the Director of CAVS-Extension located in Canton, MS and will work alongside industry-experienced engineers to:
* Perform project work that supports industrial clients and public sectors partners, contributing to statewide and regional economic development improvement.
* Participate in training opportunities available at CAVS-E; provide support CAVS-E team members in the delivery of professional development training for industrial clients and K-12 outreach related to i4.0 advanced technology.
* Set up and integrate advanced automation equipment in the CAVS-E Experiential Learning Lab (C.E.L.L.), including:
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
Collaborative Robots
Autonomous Mobile Robots
Vision Systems
Industrial Sensors
* Demonstrate and showcase automation technologies to industry partners and workshop participants and assist in designing custom automation solutions for real-world industrial applications.
* Document results of industry projects and benefits to customers.
Time Period: Spring or Summer Semesters 2026.
This internship provides real industry engagement, exposure to emerging technologies, and the chance to contribute to transformative projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
Students enrolled in engineering, manufacturing, mechatronics, or maintenance programs at post-secondary schools that have completed their freshman year. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required, with an interest in manufacturing.
