Performs other duties as assigned. Regular, dependable and punctual attendance is an essential function of this job. High School diploma or GED and two (2) years of experience in one or more of the skilled trades, (e.g. plumbing, pipe laying, carpentry, electrical, mechanical, masonry, air conditioning, painting, etc.). Valid Florida Class E Driver's License (Must maintain for the duration of employment). Work is primarily completed during normal business hours (Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm); however, schedule flexibility is required to effectively perform the requirements of the position. RESPONSIBILITIES: Report directly to the crew leader or foreman. Load and secure materials or equipment for transport from the show-up yard to job sites. Set up equipment, including drills, water tanks, and machine grounding. Place, remove, or maintain underground utilities as directed, including labor-intensive tasks such as carrying materials, jackhammering, shoveling, tamping, and installing pipes, ducts, or cables. Perform trenching, missile boring, hand-hole placement, fiber optic cable installation, and related restoration work. Locate and identify underground wiring and cabling. Conduct job hazard analyses daily or as conditions change. Assist in securing the work site, equipment, and materials at the end of each shift to ensure public and job site safety. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including protecting public and underground utilities. Perform additional duties as assigned. REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES: Knowledge of NESC, OSHA, and applicable state and local codes. Ability to recognize priority issues and escalate them appropriately. Strong attention to detail in maintaining safety and operational procedures. Willingness and ability to work in all weather conditions.
