Performs work in several trades including general construction, maintenance, or repairs in a manner consistent with accepted practices, under the direction of the Facilities Director. The class works within a general outline of work to be performed and requires minimal supervision. The tasks below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work of the class as necessary. May perform all levels of: * Plumbing repair, replacement, and new work to include fixtures, fittings, lines, etc. * Carpentry repair, replacement, and new work to include framing, doors, windows, etc. * May perform minor electrical repair, replacement, and new work to include lighting, switches, receptacles, etc. * Masonry repair, replacement, and new work to include sidewalks, driveways, drainage structures, etc. * May perform welding and small engine repair. * All levels of painting applications, preparation of surfaces, scaffolding, etc. * Preventive maintenance to include air conditioning equipment. May oversee inmate crews in assignments of basic construction. Operates equipment safely. Uses hand tools and operates motorized tools. Loads and unloads equipment and materials. Sets up safe work zones and ensures safety precautions on and around the work sites. Provides regular progress reports to Facilities Director. Responds to emergency situations. JOB OVERVIEW: As a member of the team, you will be the face of Wire 3 in the communities that we intend to serve and responsible for providing the homeowners the best experience possible working in or around their property. This is a full-time hourly position, expected to work at least 40 hours per week. Job Duties: * Provide jobsite coordination. * Provide clear and concise communication with Dispatchers, Train Crews, other Railroad Personnel, and/or Contractor personnel. * Provide clear, concise, and thorough job briefings with all personnel on each job site. * Enforce all Railroad, State, and Federal Policies. * Identify rule violations and resolve in accordance with Railroad, State, and Federal Policies. * Enforce Contractor training requirements. * Submit daily field reports detailing Contractor and/or Railroad activities. * Provide On-Track Safety in accordance with 49 CFR 214 Federal Regulations for Class 1 Railroads, Regional Short Lines, Transit Systems, State DOT Rail Divisions, Railroad Suppliers, Railroad Contractors, and/or Railroad Consultants.
