Work on and contribute to collaborative research teams 12. Perform the following major duties that include but are not limited to: a. Conducting data analysis and computations b. Collecting/cataloging of field and/or laboratory samples c. Creating various reports based upon data results d. Under regular supervision, act as a lead worker in performing technically skilled public works maintenance and construction activities. Employees in this class typically operate a variety of tools, vehicles and equipment to accomplish duties to include the operations on the Vacuum Truck. Work usually requires maintaining close engineering tolerances. Assists in the supervision and review of work performed by maintenance crews. Reports to Stormwater/Street Superintendent or designee. Able to operate the vacuum truck. On a limited basis, operate tracked and wheeled earthmoving, road-building and other related equipment such as road rollers, combination backhoes with hydraulic loading lift and back hoe digging shovel; skid steer loaders and dozers. Drives vehicle to worksite unless it is transported in other vehicle and makes settings of the attachments, if required. Transports construction equipment; performs operator pre-checks on equipment, checks lubricants, cooling systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems and makes necessary minor adjustments. Performs such operations as loading earth, gravel or other loose materials onto trucks, installing concrete catch basins, and underground stormwater drainage pipes. Assists in the inspections of canal systems for aquatic plant encroachment. Assists in the application of herbicide or biological agent. Removes obstructions hindering water movement. Assists in applying herbicides to the roadsides, medians and waterways owned and operated by the City and ensures that signs are posted to notify public of pending pesticide applications. Performs mechanical harvesting, removes plant material manually when conditions permit. Assists in the removal of vegetation from canals and waterways and clean up of canal debris and tree removal. Removes extraneous material from waterways which may include heavy objects, dead fish and containers of unknown contents. Lays-out construction projects in accordance with specifications. Constructs forms and pours concrete for concrete slabs, sidewalks and curbing. Trains subordinate personnel in equipment usage, safety, and construction/maintenance techniques. Maintains high standards of accuracy in exercising duties and responsibilities. Exercises immediate remedial action to correct any quality deficiencies that occur in areas of responsibility. Strives to anticipate work to be done and initiates proper and acceptable direction for the completion of work with a minimum of supervision and instruction. Exercises care and safety in the use of equipment and tools required to complete assigned tasks; assures the establishment of safe work zones and compliance with all applicable safety requirements. Working in the Plant assisting with machine operation, granulation, and cleanup. Forklift experience is a plus but not mandatory. Duties and Responsibilities: Must be able to lift and load tires of all sizes: personal vehicle, truck and tractor tires. Show up on time. Daily contact requires courtesy, discretion and sound judgment. Employee will be sorting textile products at our clients recycling plant in Lantana, FL and Ensure all safety and compliance procedures are followed.
