Functional Purpose
Responsible for completing various tasks in support of sales of products and services in compliance with postal procedures, regulations, and laws. Ensures respectful and effective public relations with customers.

Examination Requirements
Candidates must successfully complete and receive a pass rating of the Virtual Entry Assessment - CS (477) for Customer Service Clerks. When the candidate is invited to take the assessment, directions will be provided via email.
Background Check
The Postal Inspection Service conducts a criminal background check by utilizing United States information and data resources only (FBI, fingerprint check, state and county checks). The investigation covers a 5 years inquiry for any location where the candidate lived, was employed, or went to school within the US or its territories.

Candidates are required to be physically able to perform the duties of the position in an efficient manner with or without reasonable accommodation.
This position assists walk-in customers and over the phone customers with their part orders. Is also responsible for pulling, shipping/receiving of part orders.

Physical Requirements/Working ConditionsThis position works in an office environment some of the time and in a warehouse environment. May, on a continuous basis, sit at a desk for a long period of time; answer telephone calls and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. May on a continuous basis walk, bend and lift up to 75-100 lbs. Noise level in the warehouse environment is usually moderate to high, and the noise level in the office environment is usually low to moderate. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. Occasional local travel may be required.
