The Support position is responsible for assisting machine operators in achieving consistent performance against targets, through ensuring the smooth flow of material and work. Job Role:
Anchor Labs is a sponsor of the
FIRST
Robotics Competition and is hiring staff to help us fulfill orders from teams during build season. Purchasing and Shipping Associates will work with teams and our vendors to issue purchase orders, receive parts from our vendors, pack items for shipment to teams, and fill other miscellaneous roles through build season.
This job is primarily non-technical and no prior experience is needed. We have additional work opportunities available for applicants with a background or engineering or robotics under this same listing.
This is 1-6 week part-time role with flexible hours and potential for continued employment after build season. Staff members will work from our office in Worcester (near the WPI Gateway campus)
Responsibilities:
Issue purchase orders to vendors using Anchor Labs' internal system
Scan in packages and parts received from vendors
Pack, label, and ship completed orders.
Work with vendors to ensure outsourced parts are delivered in a timely manner.
Use Anchor Labs' internal systems to track parts and communicate with customers.
Requirements:
Strong communication skills
Ability to pick up new skills quickly
5+ hours per week (for at least 1 week) availability from early January to mid-February
Current WPI students preferred
Prior manufacturing or engineering experience is a plus but not required
Prior FIRST Robotics experience is a plus (FRC or FTC)
