As a Selector Trainee, you will work individually selecting full-case grocery, frozen, and/or perishable products from warehouse pick slots using a pallet jack or other equipment. You will either use order sheets or an audio headset. You will then fit the items on a pallet (are you good at Tetris?), plastic wrap the bundles, transport pallets to shipping dock and in some cases, load them onto a trailer for delivering to customers. Job Summary The Shipping Associate I is responsible for processing and preparing products for shipments to customers and suppliers, including the selection of appropriate packaging materials based on customer shipping requirements and methodology. Key Responsibilities Review of orders prior to shipping for any special instructions related to labeling of product, certificates of conformance or special packaging requirements. Prepare products for shipment, including but not limited to, selection of containers, labels and boxes to ensure all items are packaged to prevent any damage in transit. Review the daily shipping queue regularly throughout the day to ensure on time processing of all customer shipments. Shrink wrap, strap, label and prepare pallets for pickup. Identify and communicate proactively when orders may be at-risk of not being shipped out on time. Deliver urgent shipments that missed carrier pickup deadlines to local shipping hubs as needed.
