About the Role

What You'll Do
Champion and enforce safe work practices in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Prepare materials, products, and equipment for distribution and shipment.
Process and fulfill orders from customers and internal teams.
Pick, pack, and stage orders, verifying accuracy using scanning tools.
Load shipments onto flatbed trucks or LTL carriers.

Who You Are

The Warehouse position is a very important position and the primary function for a distributor is the movement of inventory from manufacturers to customers. This position is responsible for the careful handling of merchandise and interacting professionally with customers as orders are filled. Receive incoming shipments
Unload factory trucks quickly and carefully

Check in product by comparing to the bill of lading and packing slip to be sure entire shipment is received
Check both quantities and product numbers
Check for damage and if any is found, note on trucker's and our copy of the bill of lading
If there is damage to the shipment, notify customer service and follow “damaged unit” procedure
After checking in a shipment, forward all shipping documents to customer service
If a customer requires service while unloading a factory truck, the customer has priority
Fill customer orders
Pick all orders carefully, checking product numbers to ensure accuracy
Includes equipment and parts and accessories orders
If a “will call” order, pick product before customer arrives
Load customers' orders for them
If a “ship out” order, pick order and contact truck line to arrange pick-up
Strive to ensure Customer Satisfaction in all shipping and receiving activities
Interact with customers in a cheerful and respectful manner
Maintain the warehouse in a clean, neat and orderly manner
Inventory should be handled carefully

This role supervises the finished goods distribution operations, including case pick operations, bulk loading, and receiving.
Shift:
2-2-3 Rotation, 6pm - 6am
Duties & Responsibilities:
Schedules appropriate labor to meet daily workload demands of business and achieve on-time, accurate order shipping and receiving.
Generates and reviews daily reports to determine daily and weekly workload volumes.
Evaluates and resolves business and technical issues with Warehouse Management System, equipment, and facility.
Provides visible leadership in warehouse management and ensures that technicians are actively involved in improving warehouse performance while setting appropriate targets and departmental objectives.
Manages administrative tasks involved with approving time-off requests, maintaining attendance books, writing performance evaluations, conducting counseling sessions, and facilitating weekly departmental meetings.
Administers departmental Action Register process improvement program to continually improve performance in the areas of safety, efficiency, accuracy, and housekeeping.
Conduct daily walk-through of distribution center to evaluate and address housekeeping needs Interacts with vendors in coordinating equipment service or repairs, and places orders for supplies.
Conducts departmental safety training, new hire training, and cross-trains team members in various positions within the DC to achieve optimum workforce flexibility.
Evaluates processes and establishes SOP's to foster and achieve ongoing improvements within the DC operation.
Supervises and provides development and training for technicians and support team.
Accurately and consistently manages forklift pre-operation checklist process in verifying the completion of all pre-shift inspections and ensures regulatory compliance with assets of Company.
Conducts interviews and makes recommendations for candidates in new hire process and for temporary labor.
Actively promotes teamwork and a participative approach to running a business and directly resolves people issues successfully.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning System such as SAP, Oracle or JE Edwards strongly desired.
Preferred Education, Training & Experience Requirements:
Previous supply chain, distribution or materials management experience in a fast-paced environment preferred.
Lean or continuous improvement experience preferred.
Experience in CPG industry a plus.

Job Description:
The Warehouse position is a very important position and the primary function for a distributor is the movement of inventory from manufacturers to customers. This position is responsible for the careful handling of merchandise and interacting professionally with customers as orders are filled. This position is also responsible for maintaining the warehouse in a clean and orderly manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Receive incoming shipments
Unload factory trucks quickly and carefully
Put away inventory in an orderly manner, storing products in their designated place in the warehouse
PRIOR TO THE TRUCK LEAVING:
Check in product by comparing to the bill of lading and packing slip to be sure entire shipment is received
Check both quantities and product numbers
Check for damage and if any is found, note on trucker's and our copy of the bill of lading
If there is damage to the shipment, notify customer service and follow “damaged unit” procedure
After checking in a shipment, forward all shipping documents to customer service
If a customer requires service while unloading a factory truck, the customer has priority
Fill customer orders
Pick all orders carefully, checking product numbers to ensure accuracy
Includes equipment and parts and accessories orders
If a “will call” order, pick product before customer arrives
Load customers' orders for them
If a “ship out” order, pick order and contact truck line to arrange pick-up
Strive to ensure Customer Satisfaction in all shipping and receiving activities
Interact with customers in a cheerful and respectful manner
Maintain the warehouse in a clean, neat and orderly manner
Inventory should be handled carefully
Inventory should be put away in an orderly manner
Warehouse should be swept at least once per week
Rotate stock in warehouse regularly to help prevent obsolescence
Trash pickup in warehouse as necessary
Maintain a “Team Player” attitude with co-workers
Other duties as may reasonable be determined from time to time
This position is supervised by the Warehouse Manager and reports to the Branch Manager
Experience and Requirements:
Able to stand and work on your feet for most of an 8-hour shift
Capable of lifting up to 70 lbs (typical lifting is 1-10 lbs, with occasional heavier items)
Forklift certification preferred
Ability to wrap skids, package parcels securely, and use UPS WorldShip and Epicore P21
