This position distributes materials throughout the production floor while operating an industrial forklift truck. In addition, may ship and receive finished products, unfinished parts and supplies and raw materials in the absence of shipping and receiving staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Ability to be certified to drive forklift
Perform assigned duties to ship finished products and receive raw materials, unfinished parts, and supplies (including weighing, assembling/palletizing goods on pallets, coordinatingshipping schedules, loading and unloading trucks
Responsible for the storage and movement of materials in storage areas and process areas and to select and prepare products for shipment to customer
Stretch wrap pallets as required
Stage materials in an orderly manner in designated locations throughout the plant
Locate and stage materials for scheduled jobs at the machines or in the production staging area to ensure immediate availability for production to eliminate downtime, using F.I.F.O.
Keep warehouse and staging areas neat and organized
Wrap rolls in plastic to protect from elements, dust, and dirt
Ensure cardboard on pallets to secure rolls for transporting
Write incoming manifests
Perform cycle counts
Take monthly inventories
Operate a pallet jack
Empty dumpsters and trim racks
Take bad pallets to shipping for recycling/return to supplier
Gather and label/identify various scrap materials for recycling
Sweep floors in warehouse/staging areas for raw materials
Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety instructions
Participate in ongoing CI and Focus improvement processes
Perform any additional duties as requested by supervision or management within the physical demands listed below
EDUCATION:
* High School Diploma or equivalent
BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

SPECIFIC SKILLS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position has operations that require muscular coordination, proper lifting techniques and required lifting up to 50 pounds time to time. Hoist is available for use.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Required:
High School Diploma or GED and one year of related experience or equivalent combination of education, related training and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and to other associates of the organization.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Communicate (via face to face, telephone, and email) daily with shipping vendors.
Forklift Operation. Will provide training if necessary.

Shift/Hours/Days: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
As a Shipping & Receiving Technician your goal is to work with the operations team to ship and receive products in a timely manner and maintain inventory counts for finished goods and raw materials through accurate documentation.
You will do this by:
Pulling orders, ensuring orders have been pulled, staged, and repacked in the correct quantities and packaging
Loading and unloading trucks as required
Incoming inspection of materials and subcontracted items
Creating and reprinting labels as needed
Pulling material from the Machine Shop
Completing daily cycle counts
Processing chips from the Machine Shop
Returning raw materials to inventory from the Machine Shop
Packaging finished parts for storage and putting them away in the correct locations
Building custom wood boxes for shipment of products to customers
Maintaining inventory of lumber for construction of boxes
Spending 10 minutes at end of shift to clean and organize shipping/receiving area
Other duties as assigned
