Coordinates shipments for commercial, DoD and international conveyance including all necessary documentation, schedule freight shipments with freight forwarders and carriers and verify shipments' compliance integrity + Maintains department database, prepare routine reports, and file shipping/receiving records + Identifies shipping requirements and best routes and methods for delivery to meet customer requirements + Implements best practices including safety requirements, maintaining desk procedures and mentoring junior level staff + Works with various departments to coordinate shipping efforts, including Contracts, Legal, Business Development, Engineering, Finance and Supply Chain + Works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative + Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental standards.
