Job Scope:
The Shipping Specialist is responsible for handling outbound traffic activities. Position is responsible for ensuring that customer orders are processed accurately and on time. Must also prioritize in order to meet expected ship dates and accurately label and pack orders. Position is responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory through precise transactions and cycle counting
Ship finished goods and raw materials.


Responsibilities:
Label and package finished goods in accordance with regulatory standards and customer specific requirements. Operate fork truck, company vehicles, pallet wrapper and other material handling equipment. Operate computer (Oracle applications) to process orders, generate labels, and post shipments. Perform timed (independent) inventory cycle counts with record keeping and reporting responsibilities. Maintain safe clean work environment. Create bills of lading and contact carriers. Develop proficiency with Shipping Coordinator responsibilities, including. Allocate orders and generate shipment paperwork. Assist with freight tariffs and audit invoice charges from various logistics partners. Coordinate freight routing with logistics partners. Obtain the best and most efficient freight cost for out of scope freight movements with carriers. Handle and communicate all Export logistics arrangements, including scheduling of containers, preparing customs documents and send to appropriate parties. Assist with the management of SR s and freight claims. Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills Needed:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Minimum of one-year experience in a shipping, warehouse or inventory control position required; 5 years preferred. Must possess the physical ability to lift 50lbs, push/pull up to 1000lbs using pallet jack type equipment. Must be able to operate a forklift and other material handling equipment

The Receiving and Shipping specialist is an integral role at our store. This position maintains the quality of all incoming products received into the building from our distributor and supplier partners, and ensures that all orders that are packed and shipped for customers are properly fulfilled to the appropriate carrier.

This role requires comfort in navigating software like Excel, order fulfillment systems, and point of sale systems. We have systems and processes in place to support the success of the Receiving and Shipping Specialist, and we hope that the person filling this role will welcome such systems and processes as an opportunity to ease the administrative burden of the role while increasing the quality of output.

As the Receiving and Shipping Specialist, you will have an opportunity to interface with various stakeholders, including distributors, suppliers, internal buyers, senior management, carriers, and more. You will be corresponding with these stakeholders via various communication channels, including phone, email, and our internal ticketing system. Accordingly, excellent written and verbal communication skills are requirements for this role.

As it relates to receiving, this team member oversees all vendor deliveries and ensures that products received are properly and promptly entered into our point of sale, labeled, and stored. Specific receiving functions can be found below.

Matches deliveries against purchase orders, inputs UPC of incoming item into point of sale, aplies price/UPC stickers to products, and ensures that stock is shelved promptly
Keeps area organized and clean Maintains secure area locks doors
As it relates to shipping, this team member oversees all outbound shipments that our store is sending to our customers. Depending on which state we are shipping to and which products we are shipping, we use a range of carriers like UPS, Fedex, and GSO, as well as a variety of shipping types like Overnight, 2-Day, and Ground shipping. This team member will be responsible for ensuring we are shipping on the most cost-effective carriers while minimizing transit days where possible.

Experience: Previous experience in a production environment is strongly preferred.

Education: High school diploma or GED required.
