Summary:

The Assistant Shipping Supervisor is mainly responsible to safely and efficiently assist and supervise the daily operations of the Shipping warehouse and the Shipping employees for the assigned shifts. Key functions include are to assist scheduling employees, balance daily workloads with timely shipping and accuracy, maintain warehouse equipment efficiently, warehouse cleanliness and ensure policies and procedures are maintained including Food Safety, OSHA, and Safety protocols.

Responsibilities:

· Assist in Planning, Implementing, monitoring the daily operations of the shipping warehouse which includes Safety, Quality, Productivity, Inventory, Delivery and Cost

· Assist in Planning, balancing and assigning headcounts for daily staging and loading customer and transfer/shuttle trucks in the most cost-effective and timely manner

  • Assist in monitoring and efficiently staffing the Re-Pack stations of the Shipping warehouse

· Direct and assigns the flow of shipments in a timely manner, follows FIFO, maintain location inventory and scanning accuracies, product integrity and assists in monthly reconciliation/Physical Inventory

· Maintains a clean and safe working environment, knowledge of HACCP & OSHA standards

· Assists in new hire training and

· Works hand in hand with the Warehouse Supervisor to communicate process opportunities and take corrective actions or remedies

· Assists with the Management on continuous improvement projects

· Reviews and approves Time cards weekly and tracks attendance daily, also ensures meal break and rest break compliance for the employees

· Maintains fork lift inspection logs, damage reports, system-based reports, manual reports, safety and training records and other shipping documents

· Collaboration with Maintenance, Quality Control and Production on Shipping related functions and activities

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:

· Minimum 5 years of detail-oriented experience preferred in warehouse management preferably in the food industry, inventory reconciliation, OSHA requirements and continuous improvement projects

· Experience in people coaching, listening, organizing, time management and problem-solving skills

· Ability to work 10 hours Tuesday to Saturday

· Bilingual in English and Spanish, excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Knowledge in basic SAP or WMS systems including handheld scanners, basic MS Office

Education:

· High School Diploma required, College degree preferred
