Good discounts, sometimes
If you’re a good worker, you’re pressured to pick up the slack for people who aren’t. Favoritism, especially based on if someone shares the same pop culture interests, as certain managers. Micro-manages employees who already do their, but won’t say anything to employees who don’t. If you’re available to fill in for other employees, management will not only expect you to keep doing that, they will try to pressure you into consistently filling in for people, and if you’re available to can’t they will passive aggressively insult you and make direct comments around the employees they wanted you to fill in for. Minimum pay raises. Low pay, to begin with. No rewards or any type of acknowledgment for signing up many people for Shoe Perks and having many customers mention how much you helped them.
Some of the discounts were good.
What I like best about the CEO and leadership team (in reference to the District Manager) is that they did check to make sure the store was clean and orderly.
I would improve Shoe Carnival by focusing on work that is accomplished, not on whether or not employees are into the same pop culture subjects and whether or not they like to get drunk and smoke weed.
I prepared for the interview at Shoe Carnival by having my ID and resume ready and by wearing business casual attire.
In my experience the compensation at Shoe Carnival, compared to the industry average, is low. I’ve noticed that it’s even low, for store management.
The representation of diverse demographics within the organization is actually alright.
What does bring me joy, at work, is helping customers.
nice people , fits my schedule
slow business , not exciting
interaction with kids
Easy job for a first job. I enjoyed organizing and keeping the place clean. I also enjoyed the company nights with other organizations along with the black friday sales.
I did not like how it was slow at times.
Employee of the Month/ Family & Friends discounts
Loved customers
Management is too political! Management pressure employees to sign customers up for shoe perks when they can’t sign customers up for shoe perks either! Poor Management!
Customers
Loved the customers!
Pressure from Management!
Loved the customers good and bad. Loved upbeat atmosphere until management pressured me
The opportunity to grow within the company. The vacation time offered to full time employees. The health insurance benefits the company offers.
The changing schedules. Every week your schedule changes, making it hard to plan personal life around the work schedule.
The health benefits and the PTO offered.
