Position Overview:
The Line Lead, Cosmetic role is a front-line supervisor role, responsible for directly managing and developing a team of hourly associates in an Inspection Center to regularly achieve production targets. This role is not visa eligible.
What you'll be doing:
Manage the movement of cars into and out of the Inspection Center safely for repairs, while meeting or exceeding set production and quality goals.
Meet or exceed inventory production goals on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Oversee day-to-day activities of assigned team; identify team's strengths and weaknesses; determine areas of opportunity and the appropriate steps to improve.
Engage assigned team, provide appropriate coaching, development and performance management; offer feedback and demonstrate desired skills.
Create a work and team environment that inspires positive communication, team cohesion, and adherence to Carvana's Values.
Proactively communicate information to team members, providing clear understanding of expectations, performance measures, and goals.
Prevent and resolve conflict among team members.
Monitor and ensure adherence to systems, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
Review and approve identified mechanical and physical defects of incoming inventory.
Lead a team of production associates and partner with the Inspection Center General Manager to repair or reject inventory based on estimated cost of repairs and/or the overall quality of the vehicle.
Train a team of production associates using Quality Control standards to identify and complete repairs effectively and efficiently the first time, minimizing re-checks and delays in production.

Conscientiously work in ways that decrease the possibility of injury to yourself or other team members in the shop due to spills or other preventable hazardous conditions.

What the job requires:
To be able to do your job at Carvana, there are some basic requirements we want to share with you.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Valid unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving record in the last 3 years
Experience using computers
Must be at least 18 years of age
Demonstrated functional expertise in one or more areas pertaining to Carvana's reconditioning process
Demonstrated understanding of our current reconditioning processes and lean principles
Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently; majority of lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels
Requires standing for extended periods of time with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, stooping, pushing, and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors due to vehicle maintenance.
Requires use of safety equipment that may include but not limited to face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
Ability to maintain high volume and high-quality content in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to effectively delegate tasks to team members.
Ability to communicate and interact with others effectively in a professional, courteous manner.

Job Summary:
The Tool Shop Supervisor is responsible for supervising and participating in the day-to-day operations of the die shop. This is a working supervisor with hands-on work with CNC machines, EDM, and conventional machining equipment. The role requires a strong technical background in tooling and machining, along with leadership skills to guide a team of skilled tradespeople. This is a hands-on supervisory role ideal for someone who leads by example.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Team Leadership
Lead a team of die makers, CNC machinists, and EDM operators.
Assign daily tasks and managing work priorities to meet production needs.
Train and mentor team members on safe and efficient machining practices.
Monitor work quality and ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.
Provide hands-on support and guidance in complex or urgent repair situations.
Coordination & Communication
Collaborate with production, engineering, process, and quality departments to ensure tooling readiness.

Qualifications:

Minimum 5+ years of experience in tool & die, with strong skills in CNC and EDM operations.
A minimum of 3 years of leadership, team lead, or supervisory experience (formal or informal).
Proficient in reading blueprints, CAD drawings, and precision measuring instruments.
Skilled in machining tight tolerances and working with tool steels and die components.
Basic computer skills for reporting, documentation, and inventory tracking.
Preferred Qualifications:

Under the direction of management, assists in various aspects of guest care, work order completion and register assistance, facility maintenance, and outside purchase ordering.
This position is a secondary key carrier responsible for basic and detailed opening and closing responsibilities.
Follow all policies and procedures related to cash, credit, check, refund and return policies. Works with the management team to react to guest service issues, guest complaints, and/or business opportunities.
Able to understand and effectively communicate all products and services Monro offers to guests.
Understand and adhere to company policies and procedures, Governmental standards including environmental codes and ANSI/OSHA standards. Consistent use of all required safety standards set forth in training and policies and procedures.
Partner with Management to produce a safe and health work environment that complies with all local, state, and federal laws, as well as with company policies and procedures.
Maintain an organized and neat guest waiting area.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
General Service Front and Back Shop
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Automotive training including basic car maintenance and repair or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
ASE certification and State Inspection license (where applicable) preferred.
Must possess a current valid driver's license and have a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) and have the ability to operate customer's vehicles to conduct test drives.
Required to own a basic set of tools or participate in Monro's tool purchase program.

Job Summary:
The Tool Shop Supervisor is responsible for supervising and participating in the day-to-day operations of the die shop. This is a working supervisor with hands-on work with CNC machines, EDM, and conventional machining equipment. The role requires a strong technical background in tooling and machining, along with leadership skills to guide a team of skilled tradespeople. This is a hands-on supervisory role ideal for someone who leads by example.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Team Leadership
Lead a team of die makers, CNC machinists, and EDM operators.
Assign daily tasks and managing work priorities to meet production needs.
Train and mentor team members on safe and efficient machining practices.
Monitor work quality and ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.
Provide hands-on support and guidance in complex or urgent repair situations.
Coordination & Communication
Collaborate with production, engineering, process, and quality departments to ensure tooling readiness.
Communicate status of tooling jobs, die repairs, and preventive maintenance.
Coordinate die cleaning and preparation schedules to align with production requirements.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and part usage.
Safety & Continuous Improvement
Ensure all team members follow safety procedures and proper machine operation protocols.
Promote a clean and organized shop through 5S and lean practices.
Identify and implement improvements in tooling processes, equipment, or workflow.
Hands-On Technical Work
Perform setup, machining, and repair of tooling using CNC, EDM, milling, grinding, and manual machines.
Troubleshoot and repair dies to ensure proper function and minimal downtime.
Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble dies and tooling as needed.
Modify and improve tooling based on production feedback or engineering changes.
Participate in die tuning and support the validation of tooling for production use.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or degree preferred.
Minimum 5+ years of experience in tool & die, with strong skills in CNC and EDM operations.
A minimum of 3 years of leadership, team lead, or supervisory experience (formal or informal).
Proficient in reading blueprints, CAD drawings, and precision measuring instruments.
Skilled in machining tight tolerances and working with tool steels and die components.
Basic computer skills for reporting, documentation, and inventory tracking.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in job shop manufacturing.
Familiarity with CAD/CAM (Camworks) and ERP(IQMS).
Working Conditions:
Active machine shop environment with exposure to noise, machinery, coolants, and lifting (up to 50 lbs).
Requires standing for long periods and using hand tools, hoists, and measuring equipment.
