This Opportunity:
The position will focus primarily on in-state bridge engineering projects but may include projects throughout the upper Midwest.
Manage a wide range of transportation projects. Lead a team of design engineers and detailers on bridge projects for local and state clients.
Manage bridge projects that include a wide variety of bridge sizes and complexity from conventional grade crossings to highway interchanges and river crossings and that involve bridge types such as prestressed concrete beam, cast-in-place concrete slab, steel truss, steel plate girder or curved steel plate girder.
Perform structural design on highway and municipal infrastructure projects, including state and local bridges.
Provide oversight and quality control for designs performed by bridge staff.
Participate in business development and marketing. Actively pursue project opportunities and work with a team in preparing project proposals for large bridge projects.
Assist the practice leadership team in developing and implementing strategic growth to meet short and long-term plans and financial goals.
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis from an accredited college or university.
Licensed Professional Engineer in MN
Strong Civil Engineering experience in structural bridge design.
Experience on a variety of state and local engineering projects with established network.
Familiarity with AASHTO codes and design standards for new and replacement bridge structures.
Familiarity with the Minnesota Department of Transportation LRFD Bridge Design Manual.
Experience in proposal development and project management of bridge engineering services.
Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, on-site observations/visits, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with various structural design and analysis software systems (RISA, STAAD Pro, Bentley OpenRoads & OpenBridge, AASHTOWare BrR, Mathcad, Excel Spreadsheets, etc.)
Able to walk and climb over rough construction terrain and carry up to 20 pounds

Summary/Objective:
The Structural Engineer position is primarily focused on mechanical structures and supports for our industrial and commercial divisions (local and national accounts). The Lead Structural Engineer Position
The Lead Structural Engineer role is a diversified role that provides the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the steel construction industry, along with the technical specialization of erection engineering. The Lead Structural Engineer works closely with the Engineering Manager, the Pre-Construction Team, the Project Management Team, and the Project Field Team to support the safe and efficient erection of structural steel.
While this position will focus primarily on the analysis of structures during erection to maintain/provide stability during all stages of erection, the Lead Structural Engineer has the opportunity to perform other construction engineering tasks. These additional tasks could include the design of temporary shoring, lifting beams, lifting lugs, erection aids, etc. Additionally, the Lead Structural Engineer may also interact with the estimating team to review projects at bid time for general review of building stability. RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Project Engineer, you will:
Learn and become proficient in functions within the Project Controls department.
Become knowledgeable in the functions of the Estimating department.

Understand and gain exposure to craft labor agreements.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required.

**The Role**

The work environment and requirements described below are representative of those necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
**The Physical Side of the Role:** This is an active, hands-on role. You can expect to be on your feet frequently, navigating active job sites with uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, and hoists. The work is physically demanding and requires a full range of motion, including bending, kneeling, and reaching. You'll need to be comfortable frequently lifting and carrying materials up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. This role requires the ability to communicate effectively, as well as visual acuity for reading plans and inspecting work. The role does include desk time in the office that may require prolonged periods of sitting for tasks like computer work, document review, and meetings.
**Your Work Environment:** You'll spend a significant amount of your time on active construction sites, which means being adaptable to all kinds of weather and moderate to loud noise levels, and comfortable in elevated or confined work areas with moving mechanical equipment and with the fast-paced nature of a project in progress. You will also spend time in a typical office setting with moderate noise levels. Your safety is our top priority, and you'll be expected to follow Clark Construction's safety policies and procedures, and all applicable laws, at all locations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Develop detailed civil engineering designs for commercial construction projects, including site layouts, grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater management systems. Ensure designs meet all regulatory requirements and client specifications.
