ShotSpotter company history timeline

2004

Lauder, through his venture firm Lauder Partners, led ShotSpotter’s series A round in 2004, a time when he said the company was “subsisting on fumes” and had a handful of contracts keeping it afloat.

2009

He was a 2009 investor in Palantir, for instance.

2014

In the spring of 2014, she received a strongly-worded letter from Clark on ShotSpotter’s letterhead, citing the company’s shift to a “cloud-based services” model. “To put a fine point on the matter, SST’s ShotSpotter information is not crime data,” Clark wrote.

2017

The Newark, Calif.-based company, which went public in 2017, is in 95 cities and will become profitable this quarter, according to CEO Ralph Clark.
