Job Overview The Team Leader assists with clinical supervision of patient care and job performance supervision of all employees on an assigned shift. They plan, coordinates and provides for optimum patient care on the unit. The Team Leader performs professional nursing services for patients with a variety of needs utilizing the nursing process and within the scope, ethics, and standards of practice as defined by the American Nurses Association and the California BRN Nurse Practice Act. The Team Leader will ensure the clinical competence of the nursing staff and fostering delivery of evidence-based practice, in alignment with the Standards for Nursing Professional Development Practice and Professional Performance. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and comply with Title 22, OSHA, and Joint Commissions standards, delegate appropriately to members of the patient care team, provide leadership and supervision to assigned staff, assess patient care data, and formulate appropriate nursing diagnoses.
