You're not just doing it for the win - you're doing it because you have something to prove and the drive to be exceptional. You are self-motivated, intelligent and strategic - with a natural talent for building trust, selling ideas and forming high-leverage partnerships. As we scale fast, we need individuals who are obsessed with learning, thrive in challenge, and want to leave a mark. As the founding partnerships hire, you will be responsible for architecting and scaling Baselayer's strategic partnerships engine - turning good relationships into great ones and great partnerships into growth machines.
4-8 years of experience in partnerships, account management, business development, strategy or a similarly high-leverage role at a fast-paced startup, fintech, or financial institution.
Plus: understanding how financial institutions evaluate, buy, and implement software providers - whether from firsthand experience, selling into them, or having been part of the process yourself.
Operational skills to lead end-to-end execution of partnerships (internal buy-in, contract, enablement, launch). You can align stakeholders, manage timelines, and keep complex projects moving without babysitting.

Responsibilities:
Own and scale strategic partnerships end-to-end - from sourcing and structuring to activation, enablement, and long-term growth.
Build the playbook for scaling our ecosystem - think partner training sessions, co-marketing campaigns, and 1-pagers that actually get used.
Be everywhere - from co-hosting events to joining GTM calls, you'll embed yourself in our partners' workflows to keep Baselayer top of mind.
Own the partnerships lifecycle: from discovery → diligence → negotiation → launch → scaling.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align partnership execution with Baselayer's goals.
Build scalable systems for onboarding and enabling partners - then work shoulder to shoulder with them to identify new leads, land deals, and expand the network.
Make Baselayer
unforgettable
- ensure our partners' sales reps
know
us,
pitch
us, and
win
with us.
Work closely with product, design, solutions, and engineering teams to gather customer feedback and incorporate it into the product development process.

Benefits:
Time off when you need it: Flexible PTO so you can recharge without red tape.
In-person energy: We're based in NYC and meet in the office 3-5 days a week - but flexible remote work is always on the table.
Competitive compensation: We pay well and back it with equity - we want you to think and act like an owner.
Career rocket fuel: You'll help build the foundation of a high-growth startup, working side by side with experienced founders and team members who've done it before.
A seat at the table: We believe in transparency, radical candor, and giving every team member a voice.
