As Carlton Fields’ Chief Operating Officer, I oversee the core business functions of the firm, including financial management and administrative functions.

My overall management responsibilities include providing leadership and direction to the firm’s office administrators and department managers in eight areas: marketing and client development, finance, information systems, conflicts & business intake, legal talent management, human resources, legal project and practice management, and office administration. I am an active member of management and administrative committees.

I have more than 25 years of executive legal management experience, previously serving as chief operating officer, executive director, chief financial officer, and combinations of those roles with medium- to large-sized law firms in the Miami and Washington D.C./Baltimore areas. I have been recognized as the top COO in Miami-Dade by South Florida Business & Wealth.

I am a “distinguished” member of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA), a worldwide professional organization that provides support to professionals involved in the management of law firms, corporate legal departments, and government legal agencies, and I have held various leadership positions within the organization. I am also a member of the Large Firm Principal Administrators (LFA) Caucus of ALA, and currently serve as chair of the Steering Committee. LFA Caucus membership comprises COOs and executive director-level positions of large law firms with 100 lawyers or more.

In addition, I serve as chair of the Florida COO Networking Group comprised of COOs and executive directors of Florida’s large law firms. I often present on various matters related to legal administrative and financial operations.
