SICO company history timeline

1951

Known as an inventor, a marketer and an entrepreneur, Kermit H. Wilson founded SICO® in August 1951.

1955

Schock’s death in May 1955.

1960

SICO RUBENA is continuing the tradition of processing silicone rubbers in Rubena a.s. (joint-stock company), which was engaged in silicone rubber processing since the beginning of the 1960's.

1986

Sico acquires Mulco in 1986, a leading sealant company at the time, which is still prominent in Quebec today.

1999

The limited company SICO silicone Velké Poříčí was established in December 1999 with capital entry of two owners - the German silicon processing company SICO GmbH Witten and the Czech company Rubena a.s.

2013

Sico became part of PPG Architectural Coatings, when the latter acquired all of AkzoNobel’s North American brands in 2013.

SICO is a registered trademark of PPG Architectural Finishes, Inc. © 2020 PPG Industries, Inc.
