Responsible for performing maintenance on trucks from class 5 through class 8 vehicles and recreational vehicles per OEM and company guideline. Many times specialized mobile utility equipment will be transported under emergency conditions; route selection will require attention to road and bridge widths, bridge load bearing limits, and overhead clearances; along with substation site access road and yard access and egress limitations. · Recommend necessary changes pertaining to substation location access and/or egress obstacles as required. · Responsible for all periodic and annual preventive maintenance and inspections on all Vehicle Fleet assigned tractors including all record keeping as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. · Complete relevant permits, including applying for appropriate restrictions such as axle weight limits, lengths, heights, and pilot cars when applicable. · Ensure the safe and proper transport of any hazardous materials including knowledge of placards. · Complete logbooks as required, pre/post trip inspections, shipping papers, special permits and other related maintenance records as required. · Because Tri-State is an electric utility with continuous service obligations to its customers, regular, reliable, and predictable performance of the essential functions and responsibilities is an essential function of the job. · Because Tri-State has an obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to its customers, the ability to work overtime at any time of the day or week is considered an essential function of the job.
