Education / Training
* BS Degree in Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or related field;
* First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.

Key Job Elements
* Provides regular approved Safety training to Progress Rail employees, including New Hire, OSHA, CPR, AED

* Leads incident investigations and/or response teams for EHS incidents;
* Implements corrective actions found during investigations and/or audits;
* Manages preventable maintenance schedules;
* Completes action items as directed in Progress Rail Safety Compliance System (PRACSNET);
* Conducts Safety and Environmental audits and inspections;
* Performs routine Job Safety Analyses;
* Maintains and updates MSDS Materials/Manuals;
* Serves as Facility's Emergency Coordinator;
* Monitors daily production to promote safe working conditions;
* Leads Facility's Safety Committee;
* Maintains all records related to Safety function in a designated shop;
* Orders Personal Protective Equipment and maintains the distribution system;
* Other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience
* 3-5 years of EHS related experience in an industrial setting;
* Experience with State and Federal environmental regulations;
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with a wide variety of audiences;
* Experience with Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
* Valid driver's license;
* Must be able to pass a background check which reviews any and all felonies and misdemeanors in the
past 7 years;
* Must be able to meet requirements of pre-employment, post-offer drug test and fitness for duty medical
review and exam;
* 5-7+ years of EHS experience;
* Experience in Locomotive Manufacturing/Re-manufacturing industry;
* Experience with SAFE START or similar safety program;
* Experience managing/handling compliance issues, permitting for all media, manufacturing operations,
