General Summary of the Position:
Design, develop, modify, and implement software programming for products (both internal and external) with focus on surpassing customers' expectations by achieving high quality and on time delivery. Responsible for ensuring the overall functional quality of the released product on all required platforms and mechanism. Ability to understand complex products, solutions, and problems. Creates, documents, and executes software designs which may involve complicated workflows or multiple product areas. Technical project lead. Works with general supervision on complex projects with latitude for independent judgment. Moderate skills with high level of proficiency and technical expertise.
Essential Functions:
* Design, develop, modify, and implement software programming for products.
* Manages assigned releases and projects release including defining scope, plans, schedules, and deliverables.
* Builds and releases help products.
* Develops test plans and coordinates and executes QA testing.
* Identifies tools and processes to improve/facilitate production activities.
* Analyze requirements to translate into technical solutions.
* Writes/updates scripts to support and enhance production processes.
* Supports writing staff on use of tools and processes.
* Proactively communicates status on all projects and releases.
* Apply appropriate tools to analyze, identify, and resolve technical problems.
* Participates in special projects, marketing efforts and formal proposals.
* Develop new ideas.
* Documents all processes and procedures.
Skills and Abilities Required:

The pay range for this position is $90,000 - $162,000 annually with a target incentive of 3-5% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.

Roles and Responsibilities
Partner with Engineering Material Systems program leadership, Supply Chain, and Systems to advise on adoption of new Materials and Process technologies with eye toward fulfilling short-term and long-term business goals.
Partner with Supply Chain to resolve production and near production materials technology issues. Initiate and proactively participate in reviews to identify impending roadblocks.
Partner with the EMS consulting engineers and TRL leaders to select concepts from our material systems roadmaps and help guide the implementation of early technology projects.
Raise awareness of top technical risks with development and legacy coating systems.
Provide technical, horizontal team, and program leadership on complex issues related to materials technology; proactively develop creative solutions.
Communicate significant developments with leadership and consult on investment and growth opportunities; Provide technical evaluation of proposed applications that meet business and program requirements.
Define, develop and improve business processes related to material and process of coating systems that can improve quality and productivity.
Develop relationships with partnering organizations, including materials experts at external customers, and cultivate these relationships to position GE to compete on future pursuits.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in materials application, processing, or development.
This role requires the successful candidate to maintain a US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. Citizenship. Preference will be given to candidates who currently hold US Government Security Clearance

Define materials and processes for assigned hardware; reviews/approves hardware drawings & changes to design
Set requirements and disposition initial part qualification and subsequent process/source changes
Resolve M&P related problems in the field or during manufacturing processes.
Identify M&P technology gaps and updates strategies within areas related to assigned hardware
Apply lessons learned and best practices from field experience, manufacturing evolutions, property evaluations, and development programs
Provide materials input and participates in design reviews for hardware
Communicate hardware M&P status and results to department and program team members and leadership
Author technical reports for key decisions related to application of materials and processes for assigned hardware
Qualifications/Requirements
B.S, M.S. or PhD degree in Materials Engineering, Materials Science or Metallurgy
At least 3 additional years of experience in an engineering position
This role requires the successful candidate to maintain a US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. Citizenship. Preference will be given to candidates who currently hold US Government Security Clearance
Desired Characteristics
Existing Secret or Top-Secret clearance
Understands basic principles of turbine engine operation
Experience with nickel and cobalt base superalloys, titanium alloys, or high strength steels.
Experience with industrial manufacturing, quality systems and field support.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes (casting, forging, coatings), quality systems, and failure analysis methods.
Solid oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to work in a team environment

Job Summary:

An Aerospace EngineeringEngines Computer and Software Engineering intern/co-op may experience work in an area such as the development of engine controls; gas turbine engine sensors; electrical power systems; vehicle health & data management systems; data collection and computing systems; real-time data analytics; embedded controls; engine test systems and integration. Responsibilities may include design, analysis, testing, writing software requirements, software testing, simulation, tool development, and product/program support. Ultimately, you'll be placed taking your preferences into account while also considering your major, year of schooling, and business needs at the time of placement.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA off a 4.0 scale without rounding.
Attending a full time matriculated and nationally accredited baccalaureate or graduate program in computer engineering, computer science, software engineering, or another related major.
Willingness and ability to work in the United States; primarily locations are Cincinnati, OH or Lynn, MA.
Reliable transportation, many of our sites do not have public transportation available.
Graduation date on or after July 2027.
