By the end of 1987, the first signs of an encouraging recovery were evident.
Despite the improvements, divestments, and the acquisition of Family Health Care, which provided services to the company's HMO and insurance plans in southern Nevada, Sierra Health once again saw it profits plummet, recording a $3.4 million loss in 1988 on a modest gain in annual revenue.
The success achieved by these and other subsidiaries enabled Sierra Health to conclude 1994 on a high note.
