The candidate will receive limited supervision with detailed instructions for routine work, new activities or special assignments. May assist in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of lower-level employees. What you'll get to do: Fabricate composite components and/or tools, which may include, tool prep, ply kit generation, lamination, vacuum bagging, de-molding, composite trimming, finishing, core fabrication, and composite bonding processes Performing part-fitting operations such as filing, burring, crimping, trimming, gromet installation, drilling, countersinking and reaming. Aligning parts on jigs using templates and fixtures Measuring parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions. Modifying incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate engineering changes to structure. Monitoring and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Troubleshoot and solve unique problems through collaboration with engineers and other technicians. Operate autoclave and curing ovens to complete bonding cycles Use of appropriate PPE when working on the shop floor.
