WORKING PROCEDURE:

4. Position and align tube and flange sections to one another for circumferential welding by adjusting roll jack‑screws to insure completed tube meets exacting straightness and perpendicularity requirements.
5. Determine weld shrinkage and set up and operate fixture to part‑off bevel tube section to meet exacting length tolerance.
6. Set amperage, voltage, pressures, feeds and speeds within limits specified and use proper electrode.
7. Position and operate automatic welding equipment to deposit weld to join flange and tube sections where extreme care must be exercised to produce a quality joint.
8. Set up and operate fixture to mill‑off weld crowns and drill holes in tube to exacting azimuth and longitudinal locations. Layout and scribe reference points as required. Burn penetrations using plasma burning equipment.
9. Sign off operations completed and obtain inspection sign off on operation sheets as required.
10. Maintain in effect certification for welding and take and acceptably pass periodic and written tests.
11. Check work for conformance to specifications.
12. Maintain tools, equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
13. Make proper time charge entries and record data as required.
14. Perform work of equal or lower classification as required.

High School Diploma or equivalent GED.

4. Advise Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Production, Purchasing and Supplier personnel of quality problems and conditions, and assist in preventing the recurrence of defects by performing appropriate follow-up, inspection and evaluation activities.
5. Troubleshoot, disassemble, and repair various types of nondestructive equipment.

The PCA will interface with the program managers, functional management, cost account managers (CAMs) and business managers to provide financial support and analysis to meet program requirements. The PCA will monitor costs and schedules on contracts requiring validated cost schedule control system. Primary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Primary Function:
Set up and weld various types, sizes and shapes of materials and standard fabrications utilizing the full range of welding processes in all positions, requiring extreme care to produce a quality joint where methods, sequences and tooling have been established.
Tools and Equipment:
GMAW (Gas Metal Arc), GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), SAW (Submerged Arc Welding), EW (Electroslag Welding), burning equipment, regulators, induction heaters, welding positioners, fixtures, slag gun, grinder, crane, ladder, scaffold; hand truck, forklift, safety glasses, face shield, gloves, hammer, punch, square, chalk line.
Material:
Ferrous and nonferrous metals and their alloys, plate, structural shapes, casings and weldments, Oxygen, acetylene and inert gases, flux, welding wire and rods, etc.
Direction of Others:
Direct Welder "C” assigned to help in the type, size and location of weld required And direct Filer Chippers and Chippers assigned to help.
Work Procedure and/or Responsibility Assigned:
1. Receive work assignment from supervision.
2. Read and follow safety regulations and procedures and MI package including drawings, change notices, operation sheets, specifications, and work authorizations.
3. Lay out and mark or scribe reference lines on parts, strongback and positioner and assemble standard fabrications where sequences have been established and locate parts in positioning fixtures for welding. Trim parts to fit using burning equipment. Brace weldment to retain proper size and shape
during welding.
4. Set up equipment by setting amperage, voltage, pressures, feeds and speeds within limits specified and obtaining specified electrode.
5. Preheat and maintain temperature of work as specified.
6. Operate welding equipment to deposit single and multiple layers of weld in all positions where extreme care must be exercised to produce a quality joint with uniform penetration that will withstand nondestructive testing arid machining to exacting tolerances. Clean weld between passes.
7. Repair weld all visual defects, voids and incomplete welds, remove runoff tabs and clean up ends of weld joints.
This is a Union Represented position.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent GED or trade school completion.
Minimum of 3 years Welding experience in structural, pipe, or light gauge.
Prior work experience with interpreting blueprints, sketches, and manufacturing instructions.
US citizenship is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior work experience in Aircraft, Military, Marine, Naval or Automotive welding.
Prior work experience operating cranes and forklifts.
Prior work experience with SAP, MRP, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
