Position Summary:
The Sr. Design Engineer is responsible for developing new optics and/or accessories as well as managing legacy product improvements. Their responsibilities also include exercising sound engineering judgement, presenting analysis summaries which support design decisions, providing technical leadership on all team projects, and mentoring R&D staff. The optics platforms that you may work on include opto-mechanical and electro-opto-mechanical products such as, scopes, red-dot sights, reflex sights, laser sights, flashlights, and other similar products. The Sr Design Engineer will work in an integrated team with manufacturing engineers, electrical engineers, optical engineers, quality engineers, supply chain staff, product managers, and project managers. This senior position in the R&D department is generally intended for Mechanical Engineers with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and 7+ years of related experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
* Actively contribute to and provide technical leadership in the development of innovative optics and/or accessory products which meet product requirements and cost targets related to business objectives.
* Design mechanical elements of optics products with specific lens prescriptions and requirements.
* Proactively and independently complete complex and accurate FEA analysis.
* Determine required tolerance stack analyses for product designs and ensure final design results showing acceptability are documented.
* Generate and check drawings, ensuring a functional dimensioning scheme, appropriate GD&T, and ASME Y14.5 compliance.
* Conduct PLM (product lifecycle management) software activities such as creating part numbers, bills of materials and change orders to release items into the PLM system (Agile PLM software experience preferred).
* Responsible for ensuring logical and thorough test plans are created to evaluate new or modified products.
* Coordinate Test Technician activity, assisting, as necessary.
* Review test data and ensure hypotheses, conclusions, and next steps are valid.
* Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of test reports.
* Responsible for DFM of complete products, coordinating activities with manufacturing engineers and vendors.
* Track product cost rolls against targets and implement design changes as necessary to meet plans.
* Evaluate part inspection data and determine the acceptability of non-conformances, providing feedback to suppliers.
* Develop and manage Intellectual Property through patent searches, patent applications, and trade studies.
* Lead the continuous improvement of technical information, analytical methods, design practices, and other R&D activities.
* Take new product concepts through all aspects of the product development cycle ultimately resulting in a producible and innovative product; including assisting manufacturing engineering and process engineering functions with tasks such as assembly tooling design and work instructions.
* Review analyses completed by other engineers for accuracy and provide guidance for identified concerns.
* Provide technical assistance to other departments within Sig Sauer as needed.
* Understands lens coatings, transmission, adjustment sensitivity provided by an optical engineer.
* Understands metallurgy, heat treatment and coatings related to aluminum and steel.
* Consistently follow safe firearm handling practices.

Education/Experience & Skills:

* Must be proficient using CAD software to create parametric solid models and associated drawings, SolidWorks highly preferred.
* Must be experienced using a PLM system for complete product lines, Agile preferred.
* Must be capable of performing highly complex analyses such as FEA, kinematic and dynamic motion, CFD, and/or heat transfer.
* Must be able to generate clear, fully dimensioned, ASME Y14.5 compliant drawings of complex parts using logical datum structures and functional dimensioning schemes.
* Must be familiar with GD&T symbology and standard inspection methods.
* Must be capable of completing complex tolerance stack analyses.
* Must have a fundamental understanding of manufacturing methods including machining, metal injection molding, plastic injection molding, stamping, extrusion, forging, and casting as well as knowledge in material selection, heat treatment, and coatings.

Position Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer II, Finishing will be responsible for developing, implementing, and improving a variety of finishing processes at SIG SAUER's firearm facilities. **THE ROLE:**

Position Summary:
The Sr. Design Engineer is responsible for developing new optics and/or accessories as well as managing legacy product improvements. Their responsibilities also include exercising sound engineering judgement, presenting analysis summaries which support design decisions, providing technical leadership on all team projects, and mentoring R&D staff. Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Actively contribute to and provide technical leadership in the development of innovative optics and/or accessory products which meet product requirements and cost targets related to business objectives.
Design mechanical elements of optics products with specific lens prescriptions and requirements.
Proactively and independently complete complex and accurate FEA analysis.
Determine required tolerance stack analyses for product designs and ensure final design results showing acceptability are documented.
Generate and check drawings, ensuring a functional dimensioning scheme, appropriate GD&T, and ASME Y14.5 compliance.
Conduct PLM (product lifecycle management) software activities such as creating part numbers, bills of materials and change orders to release items into the PLM system (Agile PLM software experience preferred).
Responsible for ensuring logical and thorough test plans are created to evaluate new or modified products.
Coordinate Test Technician activity, assisting, as necessary.

The Lead Hydraulics Engineer serves as the primary hydraulics technical contact for Account Managers and OEM customers, supports quoting and feasibility assessments, mentors junior engineers, develops design standards, and ensures successful system performance through production troubleshooting and continuous improvement. Perform construction management duties. Duties include conducting initial meetings with contractors to describe the project, obtain pricing from contractors and review to determine relevancy to the project, and make recommendations to the client on award of the project. Perform construction monitoring during the work to ensure final product is in compliance with engineered project documents, and coordinate any deficiencies observed with the contractor for resolution. Identify, evaluate and implement potential solutions to resolve conflicts identified during the work.
Conduct assessments and investigations. Duties include determining the appropriate processes to be used, assembly and operation of testing apparatuses, directing the making and repairing of destructive openings in roofing and wall systems. Prepare documentation describing the existing conditions and deficiencies observed, and provide recommendations for improvements to existing conditions.

Ability to operate equipment used in assessments and investigations, including infrared camera, electrical capacitance meters, water testing units, etc.
