Required Qualifications
Experience
: Minimum 3 years of experience in a fast paced industrial or warehouse environment delivering maintenance service to power equipment, consisting of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components preferred.
Education
: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional course work or on-job training in mechanical, electrical, welding, controls of HVAC.
Professional Certifications
: Any trade/technical certification related to facility maintenance is a plus. MHE certification or specialized training preferred. Long term service in field may be considered as an equivalent.
Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities
Must be able to read and follow service manuals, assembly drawings, schematics in either print or digital form. The ability to productively navigate basic computer applications is expected.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Performs responsible, skilled, and technical work in the maintenance and repair of equipment in the County-owned Triangle Wastewater Treatment Plant, associated wastewater collection system, associated reuse water system, and potable well water system.
This position is required to work a rotating on-call schedule to provide continual coverage of the wastewater treatment plant and may be subject to work after normal operating hours to meet the needs of the utility. Work is performed under regular supervision of the Utility Supervisor.
The TWWTP is rated for an average daily flow of 12 million gallons per day and is specifically designed to meet future nutrient load requirements for the Jordan Lake nutrient management strategy. The TWWTP serves the southeast portion of Durham County inside and outside the Durham City limits and serves the Research Triangle Park within Durham County. The collection and treatment of domestic sewage and wastewater is vital to public health and clean water. It is among the most important factors responsible for the general level of good health enjoyed in the United States.

Perform work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
Replace air filters, cabin air filters, and wiper blades, additional services as outlined by management
Inspect vehicle fluid levels, replace, or replenish as necessary.
Check tire pressure and add air if needed.
Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
Document all work performed on the repair order.
Report machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs as assigned by service manager.
Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
Keep shop area neat and clean.
Understand, kept abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.
Report any safety issues immediately to management.

Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor Department: Maintenance Reports To: Manufacturing Section Manager The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance operations to ensure all production equipment, machinery, and facility systems are functioning at optimal performance levels. This role provides leadership to the maintenance team, coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance activities, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to maximize equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and maintain a safe working environment.
Functions and Essential Duties Supervision
Lead, supervise, and develop a team of maintenance technicians by providing direction, training, and performance feedback.
Coordinate staffing for absences, tardiness, vacations, and shift changes.
Oversee preventive maintenance schedules and ensure compliance to reduce unplanned downtime.
Manage maintenance work orders, track progress, and ensure timely completion with proper documentation.
Work with production supervisors to meet preventive maintenance requirements.
Monitor training and certification needs to ensure employees are qualified for assigned tasks.
Conduct performance reviews for maintenance technicians.
General Maintenance
Perform maintenance repairs and modifications on production equipment as needed.
Complete scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance activities in a timely manner.
Assist with equipment changeovers to support production and quality standards.
Support special projects, including equipment moves, work cell setups, and equipment installations.
Determine required materials and services for repairs, preventive maintenance, and projects.
Perform facility maintenance tasks, including electrical work, plumbing, and lighting replacements.
Quality
Follow quality procedures and work instructions related to maintenance functions.
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives to support equipment optimization.
Exercise authority to stop production if necessary to correct quality issues.
Collaborate with operators to ensure equipment operates at maximum efficiency.
Support and maintain 5S workplace organization efforts.
Administrative
Plan, assign, and monitor daily maintenance activities to ensure effective service of production equipment and systems.
Maintain spare parts inventory, tools, and supplies to support maintenance operations.
Coordinate with production, engineering, and quality teams to prioritize repairs and support manufacturing objectives.
Monitor key maintenance performance metrics and develop improvement plans.
Facilitate meetings with team members, peers, and leadership.
Work with vendors and contractors as needed.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Education and Required Experience
Associate or bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
At least 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
Demonstrated ability to lead a team of five or more employees while fostering collaboration and accountability.
Skills
Strong knowledge of robotics, PLCs, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to read, write, and understand English to effectively complete job responsibilities.
Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Proven machine installation and equipment testing skills.
Machining and welding skills preferred.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
