POSITION: Quality Assurance Technician I - 2 nd Shift REPORTS TO: Assistant Manager, Quality Assurance Position Summary: Responsible for the constant monitoring of all roasting procedures, raw materials, production procedures/ methods/standards and overall finished product quality. Must support and enforce quality lead instructions and make sure other departments follow quality standards/procedures. Essential Functions: • Conduct line monitoring of all production lines in operation, recording measurements and weights. If lines run poor quality, tech will be able to place product on hold and stop line if needed. • Assist in updating or implementing production and food safety aids such as guidelines, scaling weight charts, HACCP, GMP's, etc. • Conduct daily plant walk-throughs and audit GMP and food safety compliance. • Perform freezer inventories and place any product close to “out of date” on hold. • Maintain well-organized, detailed, and legible records. • Performs lab testing such as moisture readings, pH's and tta's. • Secure samples involved and help evaluate customer complaints. • Update GMP training and deliver training to employees. • New employee orientation/training. Food Safety Production Areas: • Notify Supervision of any repairs or adjustments that are required. • Understand, observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy while in the Production Areas. • Perform all duties necessary to meet American Institute of Baking (AIB), Company, and or Government requirements / standards as prioritized by the Company. • Inform Management of ANY Food Safety or Quality issues or of any processes, which become non-compliant with specified requirements. • Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system. • Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system. • Controls further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected. • Inform Management of ANY Food Safety or Quality issues or of any processes, which become non-compliant with specified requirements. • In the absence of immediate supervisor, will assume necessary operational and administrative duties. • Will be accountable to Flagstone Foods safety and quality principles. • Will support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF Level • Other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications: • Must have a High School diploma or GED certificate. • Must have at least 6 months experience on a manufacture work environment. • Must know how to evaluate the product for roast and/or damage. • Must have ability to multi-task and work well under pressure. • Must be proficient with Microsoft programs such as word and excel required (data entry). • Must be able to make conversions from Metric to English standards for weights. • Must be able to have a flexible schedule and be willing to work OT/Holidays/Weekends with the ability to go to any shift depending on the production demands. • Knowledge and understanding of all types of nuts and allergens processed through the machine preferred. • Basic math skills strongly preferred: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and percentages.
