Position Purpose
- To provided educational interpreting services to assist deaf students access the general education classroom.
Eligibility Requirements- • Applicant has at least a standard high school diploma, HiSET, or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED), AND the following specific to the level and area of certification:
• Provisional Educational Interpreter Certificate eligibility requirements: o complete an accredited interpreter preparation program with a minimum of a certificate of completion; hold certification as a sign language interpreter/transliterator by a national or state organization or certifying body; achieve an advanced level or higher, as measured by the sign language proficiency interview (SLPI) or sign communication proficiency interview (SCPI); or pass the pre-hiring screening of the educational interpreter performance assessment (EIPA). Renewal Requirements: valid for one year, may be renewed annually at the request of the employing school system, up to three years; and renewable upon completion of 10 contact hours of professional development annually with course credit leading to a Qualified Certificate applied towards the 10 hours and accrued beginning with the issuance of the Provisional Educational Interpreter Certificate.
• Qualified Educational Interpreter Certificate eligibility requirements: o pass the Educational Interpreter Assessment, Written Test; and o achieve a level of 3.0 on one of the standardized videotape versions of the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment: American Sign Language (ASL), Manually Coded English (MCE), or Pidgin Signed English (PSE) at the Elementary and/or Secondary level. o Renewal Requirements: valid for five years and may be renewed at the request of the employing school system upon completion of six semester hours of credit or equivalent continuing professional development of 90 Contact hours. The six hours of credit or 90 equivalent clock hours shall be directly and substantively related to one or more of the permits or certificates held by the applicant or related to the applicant's professional competency. These hours shall be accrued beginning with the date of certification issuance.
• Provisional Educational Transliterator Certificate eligibility requirements: o hold certification as a cued speech transilterator from a national or state recognized organization or certifying body; or pass the Cued American English Competency Screening. o Renewal Requirements: valid for one year, may be renewed annually at the request of the employing school system, up to three years; and renewable upon completion of ten contact hours of professional development annually with course credit leading to a Qualified Educational Transliterator Certificate and may be applied toward the 10 hours and accrued beginning with the issuance of the Provisional Educational Transliterator Certificate.
• Qualified Educational Transliterator Certificate eligibility requirements: pass the Cued Language Transliterator State level Performance Assessment; or attain a level of 3.5 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment-Cued Speech (EIPA-CS); and pass the Cued Language Transliterator State Level Written Assessment. Renewal Requirements: may be renewed every five years at the request of the Louisiana employing authority upon completion of six semester hours of credit or equivalent continuing professional development (90 Contact hours). The six hours of credit or 90 equivalent clock hours shall be directly and substantively related to one or more of the permits or certificates held by the applicant or related to the applicant's professional competency.
Essential Job Functions
- Assists and guides students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, and other skills.
- Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning and implement assigned programs.
- Assists professional staff in the administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests and assessments.
- Assists in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills according to individual student needs.
- Assists with record-keeping procedures to document student learning and performance.
- Assists students in non-instructional areas, such as supervising the student lunch programs, bus duty, playground duty, corridor, study hall, and other related non-instructional areas.
- Accompanies students on field trips for the purpose of assisting with supervision and interpreting services
- Constructs, copies and distribute and use educational materials as needed.
- Assists teacher with parent contact as requested to foster effective and participatory parent involvement in student education.
- Participates in IEP process and serves as resource for the student personnel evaluation team as needed.
- Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper manner of assistance for all students, including those with disabilities or other special needs.

Job Summary:
Our Linguists are responsible for performing real-time transcriptions of sensitive material from Spanish (Honduran or Mexican Dialects) to English; collecting, analyzing, identifying, and decoding of colloquialisms and slang terms; extracting pertinent information and communicating that information to law enforcement agent(s). The linguist will be responsible for transcribing source documents and recordings from storage media, including but not limited to audiocassettes, videocassettes, or digital media.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Listens to oral and written intercepts or pre-recorded communications in Spanish (Honduran or Mexican Dialects) and provides verbal and written synopsis and transcriptions as it may be applicable per project.
Responsible for relating all pertinent information to the Client when supporting a live project.
Contributes to a master-list of slang words and codes (used by a particular group/organization) for the duration of the project/case.
Maintains a voice library for the duration of the project.
Transcribes and translates pertinent calls and documents as assigned by their supervisor.
Produce court ready transcriptions of pertinent calls, chats, and documents, following the required format.
Responsible for using the various reference tools created during the project.
Ability to transcribe a minimum of 16 minutes of recorded conversation in an 8-hour day.
Operates specialized software equipment provided by the government to include JSI voice box, Pen-link, Comverse, and other communication collection equipment used at their assigned site.
Maintain daily log of productivity.
Performs related duties as assigned, within the scope of practice.
Minimum Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree AND three (3) years' experience in a professional setting OR Associate degree AND five (5) years' experience in a professional setting OR a High School Diploma AND seven (7) years of experience.

”, we are seeking professional and diverse, culturally competent, and credentialed medical InPerson Interpreters to join our skillful team to facilitate communication between healthcare providers and their patients, regardless of language or cultural barrier. InPerson Interpreter Responsibilities
Provide effective onsite interpreting service for consumers.
Always exhibit professional appearance and behavior, including punctuality and preparedness for shifts.
Demonstrate the ability to adapt quickly to new and changing technologies.
Adhere to interpreter ethical standards and procedural requirements specific to interpreting context (i.e., hospitals, courts, schools, etc.).
Respect for and understanding of our Limited English Proficient (LEP) clients, culture, dialect and beliefs and preferences as it relates to medical procedures.
Strong aptitude and passion for customer service and interpreting.
ASL Interpreter Minimum Qualifications
National certification at or above NAD level 4, RID CSC, CI/CT, CDI, NIC or BEI Advanced.
Extensive knowledge of the NAD/RID Code of Professional Conduct and Deaf Culture ethics and standards of practice.
Familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act, as well as other state and federal laws applied to medical interpreting.
HIPAA Training for Business Associates certificate (completed within the last year)
State licensed where applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
ASL/English fluency, and bilingual/bicultural competency.
Degree or certifications in ASL interpreting practices.
Minimum 2 years of in-person ASL interpreting experience within a medical setting, preferred.
Proven national medical interpreter certification (CCHI or NBCMI), or medical interpreter training diploma (i.e.: Bridging the Gap, MiTio, Cross-Cultural training, any 40-hour nationally accredited medical interpreter training course),
preferred
but not required.
