Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
Required Skills
Fluency in any of these Languages: Tagalog/Cantonese/Mandarin/Vietnamese and English spoken.
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in an international call center, preferably dealing with U.S. customers.
Prior experience in languageinterpretation is highly preferred.
Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to maintain a professional tone.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
High School Graduate or GED from an accredited institution
Fluent in Spanish and English
Three years' job related experience
PREFERRED:
Experience as a translator of written documents
Experience in a public school setting.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Ability to draft, edit and produce the final copy of documents submitted for translation from English to Spanish and vice versa.
Understanding of the nuances of both the Spanish and English language in order to produce documents that address the needs of parents.
Ability to communicate fluently, both verbally and in writing, in both English and Spanish.
Ability to read and comprehend both Spanish and English documents
Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proficient in use of Microsoft Word for producing documents, including manipulation of tables and graphics
Produce electronic versions of documents in Spanish which replicate the same aspects of Microsoft Word present in the original English version documents.
MAJOR RESPONSIBLITIES:
Command of the use of oral and written convention for both the English and Spanish language for Special Education
Provide accurate Spanish translation of English language documents, including materials for student use and communication to parents.
Provide accurate oral translation from English to Spanish at meetings, parent phone calls, and at parent conferences.
Produce an electronic version of documents and new forms from English to Spanish
Schedule and translate at ARD/re-evaluation meetings for diagnosticians and speech pathologists
Translate any documents needed for Special Education using Microsoft Word and other computer programs
Participate in home visits for translation and assist with home visits from Community Youth Services Workers
Contact parents to schedule screenings, assessments, and ARD meetings and any other assistant needed
Act as a liaison between parents and various social services
Provide assistance in administering the screening and assessment tests through interpretationInterpret and explain procedural safeguards at ARD meetings
Describe the possible services and programs to parents provide accurate translation of English language documents including materials for student
Perform all other duties as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: physical mobility, moderate standing, prolonged sitting, some lifting, repetitive hand motions and prolonged use of computer and the ability to work with frequent interruptions. The ability to be effective in both oral and written communication; ability to maintain emotional control under stress. Overtime as required.
