ATLAS is currently recruiting Local National Linguists (LNLs) that are able to speak and write in English and are a native speaker and native writer in one of the following languages: Albanian, Armenian, Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Finnish, French, Georgian, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Maltese, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, or Ukrainian. We have been providing interpretation and translation services in Europe and Western Asia to the US Army since 2016. We are looking forward to many more years. We have active linguists currently working in the following countries: Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Moldova, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia. Title: Sign Language Interpreter Department: Student Affairs Supervisor: AVP, Student Affairs Pay Grade: Based on qualifications Approved by: President Facilitates communication between hearing and deaf or hard of hearing individuals in classrooms and meetings using American Sign Language or other manual sign system; serves as a liaison between deaf or hard of hearing student, hearing students and instructors. Specific Responsibilities: 1. Interpret lectures, class discussions, campus events, and meetings using ASL. 2. Provide interpreting services in a variety of settings including classrooms, labs, tutoring sessions, and advising appointments. 3. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) Code of Professional Conduct. 4. Collaborate with faculty and Disability Services staff to ensure effective communication access. 5. Prepare for assignments by reviewing course materials as needed.
