* Provides educational, social and informational interpreting services for the deaf and hearing impaired to facilitate communication between those who can hear and those who are deaf or hearing impaired.
* Tutors hearing impaired students utilizing a variety of forms of non-verbal and voice communications.
* Reviews, prepares and becomes familiar with subject matter, vocabulary and terms to prepare for upcoming classes.
* Researches information to prepare for special assemblies, concerts, plays and/or field trips.
* Uses a variety of modalities and electronic devices such as closed captioning, hearing aids, and assistive listening devices and telecommunications equipment to enhance the understanding of the information being interpreted.
* Coordinates with other staff members providing services to students.
* Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors.
* Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
* Other job related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
* High school diploma or G.E.D.
* Completion of an Interpreter Training Program, AND one (1) year of providing instructional interpretation in a school environment.
LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS:
* Valid CPR First Aid certification.
* Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).
KNOWLEDGE OF:
* Principles of signlanguageinterpretation practices, methods and techniques.

Interpreters will provide onsite services (meetings, briefings, town halls, award ceremonies, training sessions, safety talks, conferences, and human resources actions, to name a few) approximately 34 hours per month. (Every Wednesday from 8 am to 4:30 pm for the time being).
CLOVEHITCH currently provides ASL Services to other government agencies in DC, NC, MD, and CO. We were awarded this one-year contract in July 2024, with the option of four additional years.

CLGT Solutions, LLC dba CLOVEHITCH is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business focused upon providing professional solutions in the areas of training and talent acquisition. We were recently awarded an ASL contract and are seeking interpreters to provide services for one deaf/hard of hearing (HOH) employee at a government agency in Phoenix, Arizona. Interpreters will provide onsite services (meetings, briefings, town halls, award ceremonies, training sessions, safety talks, conferences, and human resources actions, to name a few) approximately 34 hours per month. (Every Wednesday from 8 am to 4:30 pm for the time being).
CLOVEHITCH currently provides ASL Services to other government agencies in DC, NC, MD, and CO. We were awarded this one-year contract in July 2024, with the option of four additional years.
Education, Experience, & Requirements
Must be a US Citizen
Must possess:
Arizona Licensure a
RID/NAD certification or Undergraduate or Graduate Degree from an accredited College or University with a major study in a field related to either interpretation or American SignLanguage (ASL) studies
Ability to sign in various situations, as well as to perform in challenging, creative, formal working environments, both on-site and virtually
Excellent customer service skills. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships (to include but not limited to) veterans, leadership, stakeholders, and peers
Must possess fluency of signlanguage on the entire signlanguage continuum to effectively facilitate communication between Deaf or Hard of Hearing employees and hearing employees
Must have minimum 3 years' experience as an ASL interpreter
Work Environment
This position requires frequent standing, sometimes for two (2) or more hours at a time.
Physical Demands
This position requires continuous use of hands.
Position Type & Hours of Work
This is a contracted position.
Hours can vary but will mostly fall between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM Mountain Time
Travel
This position will require travel to the Client site
