Lead all team & individual strength & conditioning sessions for CFC's MLS Next Pro & MLS Next professional academy, in alignment with the Club's strength development curriculum. Manage all aspects of the weight room including equipment set-up & breakdown, maintenance, & cleaning Assist in the implementation of non-rostered training sessions & lead all aspects of performance Assist in conducting on-field performance coaching, including position-specific speed, agility, & movement skills, & return-to-play training protocols as needed Collaborate with the Director of Performance to refine & execute a thorough testing battery to monitor changes in player strength, power & fitness development that demonstrates player progress & areas for improvement. Collaborate with the Performance & Medical team in the designing & administration of individualized pre-training activation protocols Implementing training session specific preparation & activation in alignment with CFC's training methodology Collaborate with Director of Performance to implement & monitor CFC's team training periodization in alignment with the Club's methodology Assist with data collection, upload/download, cleaning, & analysis as needed Perform activation & regeneration sessions as needed Manage, design, & implement weight room physical testing protocols Collaborate with performance & medical staff to evaluate player performance through performance testing, workload monitoring, & other team-specific metrics Utilize team-specific collected performance data to develop strategies to improve performance, training, recovery, & injury prevention Design, modify & apply assessment protocols & methods to analyze the demands of the sport & the capabilities of CFC athletes Maintain accurate records of performance metrics, training loads, & recovery data Support the development of a data-driven approach to athlete management & performance enhancement Stay informed of the latest research in Strength & Conditioning & related fields and participate in continued education. Assist with other duties needed to help drive the CFC Purpose, fulfill our Mission, foster our Vision Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Bachelor's degree from an accredited College/ University in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Science, or related field or National Federation's equivalent required Master's Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Strength &Conditioning, or related field preferred Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role required Experience with an elite/professional sports team, or MLS Academy preferred Previous experience with a multi-disciplinary sports performance & sports science department preferred Proficient soccer skillset with playing experience at the collegiate level or higher desirable Experience utilizing sports science technologies, such as Catapult GPS, Valid Performance, Kitman labs etc. Proficient on computer with software such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, AMS Excellent collaboration, communication and interpersonal skills for team information sharing Ability to translate data information and communicate effectively in English - both verbal & written Ability to analyze situations, identify challenges, and develop innovative solutions Skilled in managing sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity Ability to foster strong relationships and build trust with others Capability to represent the Club with professionalism, respect, and accountability Capacity to adapt to changing priorities and challenges Commitment to continuous learning and skill development Licensing and Certifications Certified Strength &Conditioning certification (CSCS) by the NSCA (or equivalent internationally recognized Strength & Conditioning certification) Certified Performance & Sports Scientist (CPSS) certification (preferred) CPR / First Aid Certification for children and adults (or the ability to obtain within 60 days of start) Possess and maintain a current and valid driver's license and passport Additional Requirements Must have or be willing to complete SafeSport training within seven (7) days of start Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship Bilingual (Spanish speaking) preferred but not required Physical Requirements Heavy - lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds frequently.
