Position Description
The Assembly Lead is a hands-on leadership role responsible for coordinating daily assembly operations, guiding Assembly Technicians, and ensuring production goals, quality standards, and safety expectations are met. This role serves as the primary point of contact on the floor and acts as a bridge between Assembly Technicians and the Assembly Supervisor.
The Assembly Lead leads by example, supports real-time problem solving, drives accountability within the team, and actively participates in assembly production while helping maintain consistent workflow and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Workflow Leadership
Lead daily assembly activities and prioritize work based on production needs.
Balance workload across technicians to maintain steady production flow.
Monitor daily output and support meeting department KPIs and production targets.
Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or delays and take corrective action.
Actively participate in assembly work as needed to support production goals.
Communicate production status, risks, and needs to the Assembly Supervisor.
Quality, Safety & Compliance

Uphold standardized work instructions and assembly processes.

Serve as the first point of escalation for quality, safety, or compliance concerns.

Lead, coach, and mentor Assembly Technicians 1-3.
Assist with onboarding and training of new hires.
Reinforce expectations for workmanship, efficiency, and teamwork.
Provide regular feedback to technicians and escalate performance concerns to supervision.

Inventory, Systems & Organization
Ensure proper material usage and inventory accuracy within the work area.

Job Qualifications
Demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
Strong working knowledge of assembly processes, product flow, and quality standards.
Understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs), work instructions, and basic inventory control.
Working knowledge of Odoo or similar ERP systems.

Job Responsibilities:
Design embedded software for drone systems in embedded Linux environment using C++ and Python
Develop, integrate, and debug device drivers for peripherals (I2c, SPI, UART, USB, etc.)
Work with cross-compilation toolchains, build systems (Yocto, Buildroot, or similar), bootloaders, and CI/CD pipelines.
Work in NVIDIA embedded Linux environment (Jetson, Jetpack)
Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and flight test engineers
Build real-time algorithms and state machines for system control
Debug electrical systems using tools like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
Manage code using Git and version control best practices
Travel to test sites as needed to support flight testing and integration
Job Qualifications:
BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or applicable technical field strongly preferred.
5 - 8+ years of relevant software engineering experience demonstrating ability to design and implement complex software subsystems. Experience should include all phases of the software development life cycle from product inception through design, implementation, new product introduction, and support.
Complete command of the C/C++ programming language required. Exposure to object-oriented design methods and concepts is required. Familiarity with software development, configuration management, and defect tracking tools is assumed.
Experience with Heterogeneous embedded targets, ST Micro & NVIDIA preferred.
Experience with Linux based build systems, solid experience with Yocto preferred.
Demonstrated competence in GIT source code management.
Experience with automated build tools is a plus.
Experience with real-time video streaming, including hardware-accelerated compression, transport, and MISB metadata management is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to foster a cooperative environment.
Strong team member with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
Able and willing to travel to test sites as needed, using company vehicle (clean driving record is required).

Quality Technicians inspect all products throughout production and pre-shipment to ensure they meet our high standards for precision and durability, they play a role in inspecting and ensuring that products meet blueprint specifications and other fit, form and function related specifications. They are also responsible for maintaining and validating measuring equipment/gauges for Quality as well as issuing to Operators and co-workers, ensuring accurate product inspection at their workstations.
Job Responsibilities
Kit measuring instruments for upcoming Machine Changeovers to minimize downtime.
Reading and comprehension of blueprints, data, manuals, SOP's or other documentation to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification process, formulas, or measuring instruments required.
Problem solving for non-conforming issues that may arise within the shop.
Regularly create and implement Process Improvements.
Operation of our coordinate measuring machine, keyence optical measurement system, surface roughness tester and other advanced metrology equipment.
Execute regular Quality Certification Service (QCS) on products.
Reporting features or parts that don't conform to print of design intent (NCR).
Examine and verify supplier-provided documentation, including First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), certificates of conformance, and various test reports.
Using precision measuring tools to conduct detailed visual and dimensional inspections.
Validate and maintain all measuring instruments such as: calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, thread gages, etc.
Document all inspection results, making clear acceptance or rejection decisions and generate required reports for clients.
Comply with safe work practices; understanding work injury procedures, workers comp, and OSHA standards
Provide support to the shop floor to uphold Syndicate's quality standards of all products.
Work closely with engineering, production, and other departments to interpret specifications, troubleshoot quality problems, and provide input for design improvements.
Solid foundation in shop math, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry, as well as hands-on experience with precision measurement tools like calipers and micrometers
