Responsible for across-the-board manufacturing processes including machining, lapping, polishing, and clean room processes. Will interact with all levels of the business to initiate, substantiate, and implement process improvements. The rapid prototype manufacturing (RPM) role is responsible for the launch of new products into the production environment using gated program launch tools. This key role provides the flawless launch of new products from concept/prototype through and including first article and production initiation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Follow all company safety policies and report any unsafe conditions to Engineering Manager, EHS Manager, and/ or Director of Manufacturing Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the Company Quality Management System and apply Quality Procedures and Operating Procedures as appropriate Apply lean manufacturing concepts, DMAIC, and other problem solving tools Evaluates existing manufacturing methods and sequences and recommends/implements improvements that increase efficiency, reduce cost, reduce waste, etc. Evaluates and tests alternative products that improve Silfex's technical manufacturing capabilities, resulting in throughput increase, cost reduction, and yield improvement. Participates in the Material Review Board (MRB) recommending alternate process configurations that result in the conservation of material.
