    SUMMARY: Involved in repairing existing plastic injection molds and components, Able to proficiently program in CAM/CAD software (NX/ Solidworks), and manipulate as needed. Able to run CNC/NC and all related tool room equipment effectively. Support the production operation by providing immediate response to all breakdowns to minimize downtime. Provide technical guidance to apprentices, machinists, mold maintenance, and production technician personnel as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following, other duties may be assigned. • Under minimal supervision, plan, lay out and perform all bench, machine and finishing operations required to alter and condition intricately designed and constructed plastic injection molding dies and related fixtures • Ability to proficiently program and design edit in CAD/CAM - NX/Solidworks a plus • Perform difficult machine set-ups and operations that require improvising of tools and machines for adaption beyond the normal range and capacities of available equipment • Support the production operations and work with mold maintenance to minimize downtime on the production floor • Work from special instructions to either maintain or alter molds to achieve improvements to the original design • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills in solving problems with plastic injection moldings, mechanical maintenance systems and related equipment • Work with outside vendors to process welding, polishing, plating and other services as needed • Verify conformance of finished work-piece to specifications, fit and assemble parts into complete assembly(s), verify dimensions and alignment of assembly(s) • Performs routine and customary material handling and housekeeping associated with the job • Experience with multiple types of hot runner systems- Husky a plus • Read blueprints • Basic understanding of PCs • Good verbal and written communication skills Food Safety • All employees are required to understand and follow all Quality Food Safety Management System (QFSMS) policies and procedures. CERTIFICATES / LICENSES: Journeyman Tool and Die Maker Certificate is highly desired but not required. Ability to maintain internal certifications and licenses as required such as powered lifts etc. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: The ability to work independently, Ability to operate most common tool room equipment such as: mills, radial drills, surface grinders, and various hand tools. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk and sit. JOB SUMMARY: The person who occupies this position is responsible for assuming all duties performed by feeder (feed flat cartons into gluing/paneling machines), catcher (remove product from press and pack into cases) and sorter (quality checks on cartons). This person rotates between these positions throughout working shift. They understand and align business operations and Finishing Department as he/she executes their role to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives. JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following. The following is a list of specific duties which are considered the essential functions of this job. The list is not exhaustive, as all positions at the Company are dynamic. The employee who occupies this position is expected to assume any/all duties assigned by management irrespective of whether such duties are specifically included in this list. Feeder: Feeder has responsibility that glue machinery is continually being fed with proper carton. Feeder takes stacks of cartons from loaded pallet and places them into feeder of machine. Responsibility that appropriate carton is being fed. Done by checking for variances in box number and collator marks. Responsibility to feed only quality cartons. Feeder is to fan through stacks of cartons being fed and check that they have proper color, register and are void of unnecessary markings. Feeder is to observe for machine malfunctions and stop glue machine when problems arise. Feeder uses mirror to detect malfunctions. Feeder is also to be aware of signals from operator or catcher to stop and start machine. Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of area (remove stray cartons, sweep up, etc...). Performed during make ready. Catcher: Removes the finished folded cartons from the press and packs them into cases. Responsibility that appropriate carton is being packed: Done by checking item and job number on carton with job label being used. Responsibility that only quality products are packed. Catcher is to check that cartons have proper color, register and are void of unnecessary markings. Responsibility that proper count of cartons are packed into case. Catcher is to hand count the first case of each different product being packed. Packed cartons are to be pushed on rollers through taping machine Responsible for maintenance of area. Performed during make ready. BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS: Experience: None (entry-level). EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must be able to speak, read and write English SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS: Some Departments/Jobs may run a M-Th 10-hour Shift Schedule. Must be willing and able to work overtime. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Sitting or standing, depending on changing job assignment, for extended periods. Awkward and/or repetitive movements. Routine Lifting up to 35 lbs. Occasional Lifting up to 50 lbs. Push/pull pallet jack with up to 50 lb. load. Reading computer screen or other electronic devices. Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment. Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required. Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF). Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
