Position Summary: Position Summary: Capable of handling 100+ calls/day, assistance with scheduling office/lab/nurse appointment and detailed message taking based on providers written protocols, multitasking between offices/providers protocols. Understanding of insurances and referrals needed. Ability to use independent thinking to determine urgent vs routine matters to be addressed.
Required Qualifications: Call Center/Front Desk experience preferred: High school diploma required. Prior experience and in-depth knowledge of insurance preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, physicians, management, staff and other customers. Exceptional customer service skills including the ability to us independent thinking, sound judgement and creativity when resolving customer issues. Ability to balance multiple priorities and effectively handle challenging situations. Excellent verbal communication skills. Ability to use personal commuters and select software applications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Handles escalated or complicated issues; recognizes and reports variance of workflow and daily operations.
Order supplies for areas within their scope.

Identifies and addresses the continuing education/training needs of staff.
Ensures that staff appropriately reviews registration information, modification of demographic information, etc. in Cadence system. Is knowledgeable and adept at using the Epic software.
Acts as the primary resource for problem solving in the clinics on a day-to-day basis. Identifies goals and objectives for performance improvements needed in order to provide the best patient care, optimum customer service and improve physician satisfaction.
Provides input on performance evaluations.

Summary:
Conducts retrospective audit of ambulatory and inpatient physician documentation to ensure billing accuracy and compliance. Accounts for concurrent inpatient billing accuracy and compliance for selected Divisions. Provides physician education on coding and documentation guidelines.
Essential Job Functions:
• Reviews and audits physicians' documentation in the medical record and the level of CPT code selection to verify accuracy through a concurrent coding program.
• Determines visit, procedure and diagnosis code(s) based on documentation.
• Initiates corrections and resolves discrepancies.
• Confers with the physicians to communicate and educate when deficiencies in documentation and code selection are identified.
• Meets with Division Heads and Clinical Practice Directors or designees to present statistical data on audit findings, provides useful recommendations and documentation tools.

• Performs monthly reconciliation between concurrent charges sent and entered.
• Ensures that all concurrent charges and necessary information are submitted to the billing service in a timely manner.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Certification in one of the following: Certified as Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist - Physician (CCS-P), or Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) required.

ED/Admitting Services Registrar:

Prompts patients for front-end collections payments and reconciling payments via Epic.

Merges guarantors, corrects duplicate patient records and initiates name corrections and DOB corrections with HIM.
Verify parental consent details and verify legal custody documents with callers to ensure patient records are up to date.
Navigates patients through managed care enrollment process for commercial, marketplace and government based insurance options.
Email and text patient's appointment reminders at their request.
Communicate rescheduling details back to the division offices and send out of network and self-pay notices to the divisions.
Insurance Verification Registrar:
Runs eligibility queries for upcoming patient appointments.
Assists with registration calls.
Collaborate with the call center registrars to verify eligibility on appointments that cannot be E-verified in Epic.
Entering in insurance referrals into Epic.
Create and register all Tele-echo patients and create early intervention authorizations.
Contact insurance companies as needed to verify patient's active coverage and benefits.
Takes calls from division staff and patients needing additional details on insurances Lurie accepts, referral requirements and out of network benefit options. Send out of network and self-pay notices to the divisions.
Outreach/HL7 Registrar:
Complete all of the patient creation and patient registration details for Outreach hospitals.
Manage the baby names process for Outreach hospitals that see newborns.
Coordinate with outreach hospitals on capture of final names for new born babies.
Coordinate with Outreach hospitals on demographic issues related to incomplete information received in registration batches.
Manages the CIN registration process.
