Qualifications:

Resident Care Duties
:
Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as grooming, bathing and dressing, as requested by residents or directed by supervisor.
Attends to the personal care needs of residents in a timely manner.
Regularly review, follow, and adhere to residents' service plans.
Document and report care provided and resident observations.
Perform vital signs and heights and weights.
Respond to emergency calls in a timely manner.
Monitors the safety and well-being of residents.
Reports changes in resident status, health or otherwise to supervisor.
Demonstrate knowledge of infection control and universal precautions.
Provide information, encourage, and participate with residents in activity focused programs.
May be asked to provide assistance to residents in Assisted Living and/or Memory Care.
Relationship Duties:
Deal tactfully when personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
Demonstrate a passion for caring as evidenced by interaction with co-workers, residents, families, and visitors.
Relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the community.
Department Duties
:
Attends, participates and contributes to monthly staff meetings addressing resident, departmental and community needs.
Responsible for cleaning common areas, occupied and vacant apartments, and perform laundry services in accordance with Community policies and procedures.
Not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
Effectively communicate in the English language and follow written and verbal instructions.
High School diploma or GED (preferred).
EXPERIENCE:
6-months experience in a senior living community (preferred)
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
Valid Adult Basic First Aid and CPR Certification (preferred).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
Must be able to push, pull, move, and /or lift a minimum of 25# to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Moves intermittently during working hours.
Is subject to frequent interruptions.
Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.
Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, etc.
Works beyond normal duty hours, on weekends, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary.

Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., through out the workday, as well as reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants.
Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.
May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.

Overview:

When there are charges to the tenants from the property manager for damages to the common spaces due to deliberate action or negligence, prompt discussion in House Meeting to divide the financial responsibility and prepare a written plan signed by all tenants detailing out how the charges will be paid for. Provide guidance and support to tenants with understanding their responsibilities as tenants (care for the house, pay for damages they cause through negligence or deliberate action, not engage in illegal activity, not move people in or have long-term guests, etc.).
Provide mediation support to tenants to assist with resolving conflict.
Monitor visitors coming to the house, asking who they are visiting (if not visiting someone specific, asking them to please exit the premises). Support tenants who want to have overnight visitors to go through the house approval process and abide by the rental/lease agreement.
Do a weekly walkthrough of the house and grounds, checking for maintenance needs and safety issues. Report issues promptly to Supervisor.
Conduct minor maintenance tasks as needed and able according to training and skill.
Provide notices as required to tenants regarding upcoming visits to the house by the property manager, maintenance workers, or other servicepeople.
Be onsite to greet and show maintenance workers, pest control workers, and other servicepeople where they need to go to complete necessary work.
Clean private rooms after a tenant vacates the premises to prepare for a new tenant moving in.
As appropriate, interview potential tenants in coordination with the house service provider team and property manager.
Complete an itemized timesheet detailing date, start and end time, and description of work tasks.
Arrange weekly work schedule to have at least one full day with no work tasks every week, ensuring all tenants know what day you are off each week.
Communicate promptly with Supervisor when number of hours worked in the week could exceed 10 hours and work with them to prioritize tasks.
Communicate in advance with Supervisor when time away from the house will exceed 23 hours.
Submits all paperwork in a timely manner to appropriate recipient(s).
Maintains confidentiality in all matters within the organization with respect to personnel, operations, tenants, and clients.

We're hiring an Resident Engagement (Activities) Assistant - a creative and compassionate team member who helps bring joy, engagement, and purpose to our residents' daily lives. This role blends energy, empathy, and imagination to create meaningful moments through recreational programming.

What You'll Be Doing:
Assist the Director of Resident Engagement in planning and leading daily activity programs
Organize and facilitate memory enrichment activities for small groups
Encourage resident participation and celebrate their achievements
Prepare materials and conduct research for recreational programs
Support music and occupational therapy sessions
Qualifications:
High school diploma, GED, or educational equivalent required
Effective communicator in verbal and written English
Reliable transportation to meet attendance and punctuality standards
Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
Comfortable working around animals and pets
Willingness to work with individuals with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia
Previous experience with older adults or memory care preferred
Active role: walking, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs.)

$20 - $22 USD
