About the Role: We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Forklift Operator to join our components plant team. In this role, you will support daily production by unloading trucks and railcars, moving banded loads of trusses from the line, stacking them to stage for delivery, and assisting with workflow throughout the facility. This position is essential to keeping the plant running efficiently and ensuring materials are delivered accurately to each work area.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate forklifts and material-handling equipment in a fast-paced production environment
Load, unload, and transport lumber, truss components, and finished products
Support production lines by staging lumber and replenishing materials
Inspect forklifts daily and report maintenance or safety concerns
Maintain clean, organized yard and plant areas
Follow all company safety policies, including PPE and equipment guidelines
Assist with general labor tasks as needed
Qualifications:
Previous forklift experience required; certification preferred (company-provided training available)
Comfortable working outdoors and indoors in varying weather conditions
Strong attention to safety and awareness of surroundings
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand/walk for most of the shift
Team-oriented attitude with good communication skills
2nd Shift Wall Panel Assembler

Simonson Lumber is a 114 year old, family owned and operated group of lumber yards with a components plant. Being family owned we remain loyal to our heritage and put a unique focus on family first operations. We are looking for Assemblers to join our team on the 2nd shift - 3:00pm to 1:30am Mon-Thurs.
The basic function of the Assembler is to accept the responsibility for ensuring that all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner and to the standards that are required. The Assembler will be expected to follow the procedures and duties as instructed, and also to analyze the processes and procedures being executed, providing feedback for the continued improvement of the production process.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
The principle responsibilities of the Assembler shall consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
Must have the ability to be aware of and recognize potentially dangerous situations in the shop and yard and be capable of rectifying and avoiding the situation while operating equipment. Completing work to the highest standards of quality.
Restocking components and materials, when necessary.
Maintaining an organized, clean, and safe work area.
Following and abiding by all safety protocol.
Immediately reporting any production problems to the Supervisor.
Provide quality control check on all raw materials and finished products.
Read shop drawings, or written instructions to determine method and sequence of Assembling parts.
Gather webs and place in proper areas next to set-up.
Measures, adjusts, and trims parts to make them fit correctly.
Applies plates in correct position and use plates of corrects size and gauge.
Ensure quality of end product by watching for missing or un-pressed plates, bad lumber, And poor fitting joints.
Stack and straighten lumber for the off-feed of saws
Pick and stack lumber for linear saw
Perform other duties or work in other units as directed.

Abililty to perform repetitive motions such as swinging a hammer, lifting lumber, etc.
