Job Description
Locating and diagnosing failures, replacing defective components, and performing basic troubleshooting using standard equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals, and verbal and/or written instructions. In this role, you will work C-shift, 12AM-8AM, Mon-Fri.

Job Description
Position Summary:
Electrician: They are to be certified and able to complete tasks from low voltage, i.e. wiring a wall outlet to high voltage, i.e. wiring an 800 amp machine connection. Expected to work without supervision, demonstrating an ability to read blue prints, and perform work in line with electrical building codes. Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
* Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.

* Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
* Diagnose malfunctioning system, apparatus and components using test equipment to locate cause of electrical breakdown

Must have mechanical aptitude, ability to problem-solve and to make decisions. Ability to use hand tools (such as pipe wrenches, pry bars, wrenches, ratchets, and other equipment to chip and grind weld slag or spatter).
Welding experience is a huge plus for this site
Must handle and successfully complete basic railcar repairs and inspections.
Consistently demonstrate skill in customer relations, using good interpersonal skills and be able to work as a part of a team.
Demonstrates an ability to work safely and follow proper procedures
Must work in all types of weather conditions.

GENERAL PURPOSE

* Follow established housekeeping and safety practices to maintain the quality of the work environment.
* Demonstrate the ability to complete all departmental paperwork in fine detail and explain the logic of all phases.

* Be able to hook up 440, 230, and 110-volt equipment properly.
* Able to install conduit, wire, panels, switches, control fixture and electrical equipment. Installs and maintains conventional industrial equipment such as transformers, motors, motor controls, relays, etc.
* Troubleshoots, locates and diagnoses deficiencies in electrical equipment, transformers, fixtures, control panels, etc. Determines need for repair or replacement, best and safest method of restoring interrupted service.
* Modifies and maintains electrical connections between outlets, pull boxes, breaker panels, etc., and tests the circuit for continuity and proper connection.
* Updates electrical drawings for facilities as required.
* Has thorough knowledge of the National Electric Code.
* Possess the ability to make cost analysis for decision making, and exercise good judgment.
* Understands different types of atmospheric and pressure burner systems, gas safety devices, and electrical heating systems, different types of insulation and refractory materials and construction methods.
Essential Equipment, Vehicles, Tools and/or Machinery used:
* A wide variety of meters, scopes, leak detectors, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
* All manner of power hand tools.
* Familiar with computer assisted drawing programs.

* Update the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) with timely and accurate work order, asset, and parts information.

* Develop weekly and daily maintenance schedules; coordinate short-range capacity plans and planned shutdowns/turnarounds.
* Monitor and resolve short-term capacity conflicts (e.g., staffing reassignments, overtime, contractor support, alternate equipment utilization).
* Manage and schedule contractors/vendors for work performed on site.
Work Order Management
* Coordinate with support groups (Operations, Engineering, Quality, EHS) to initiate corrective action on work orders placed on hold.
* Assign Safety Concerns and track to closure.
* Create, split, and update work orders in the CMMS (e.g., create child/sub-tasks), and coordinate inspections and sign-offs as required.
* Audit and reconcile documentation to maintain work-in-process (WIP) and asset history accuracy; ensure timely closeout with proper failure codes, labor, and parts usage.
* Track progress of jobs across maintenance shops, external repair vendors, and calibration labs; escalate discrepancies and delays.
Materials, Tooling, and MRO Inventory
* Coordinate release and kitting of materials/components, spares, and consumables to support scheduled work.
* Identify and communicate component shortages to support maintenance schedules; track purchase order and repair order status.
* Request and prioritize specialized tooling, calibrated instruments, and permits required at the job site.
* Monitor packaging, handling, and storage of parts and repaired components to prevent damage and preserve warranty.
Cross-Functional Coordination and Communication
* Serve as liaison between Maintenance, EHS, and Operations to resolve scheduling conflicts and align maintenance windows with production demand.
* Contractor Management: Ensure all contractors and vendors have been reviewed to comply with Parker's Contractor Management requirements and ensure all EHS rules are adhered to.
* Participate in tier/team meetings to drive progress on schedule attainment, cost, quality, and reliability goals.
* Prepare and deliver status updates and reports to team leaders and stakeholders (e.g., job progress, backlog, PM compliance, MTTR/MTBF trends).
Reliability, Compliance, and Documentation
* Support implementation of recovery plans to restore equipment uptime after unplanned events.

Two years of maintenance planning/scheduling, maintenance coordination, or production support experience in a computerized environment, or demonstrated ability to perform the described responsibilities.
Working knowledge of CMMS/EAM systems (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo, EAM, or equivalent) and maintenance workflows (PM/PdM/CM).
Understanding of maintenance resource and capacity planning; familiarity with MRO spares and basic MRP concepts.
Ability to read and interpret maintenance documentation (routings, job plans, schematics, P&IDs, and blueprints).

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $25 to $38 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. Essential Functions:
* Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues in production test operations through completion
* Perform all testing operations within assigned functional area
* Certify as a Crane Designated Quality Assurance Inspector to perform product inspections as required
* Create non-conformance reports including detailed description of testing performed, resulting failure and initial root cause investigation results
* Interpret and work in accordance with work orders, and engineering drawings, functional and acceptance test procedures, failure reports, manuals and all other applicable engineering and production specifications
* Calibrate or otherwise adjust assigned units by such means as potentiometer adjustment, clocking or other positioning, shimming, tension or coil adjustments, bearing and gear adjustments, as appropriate for specific unit; Make required mathematical calculations for voltage, resistance, current, impedance, amplification, flow rate and mass, mechanical dimensions and adjustments
* Perform automated testing and performance testing using a variety of automated testing equipment and special test console to simulate in-service specifications, including but not limited to: vibe, burn in, thermal cycle and leak test, or hydraulic testing
* Perform manual testing involving setup, adjustment, operation and interpretation of results from standard and special purpose test equipment, applicable to assigned product area, such as differential and multi-meters, signal generators, power supplies, bridges, oscilloscopes, altitude chamber, flow meter and hi-pot, or hydraulic valves
* Test units in other programs not normally worked on, and units of greater complexity under close supervision
* Practice safe work habits as established by OSHA and Crane policy
* Supports Crane Business System (CBS) initiatives including 5S, KPI's, Standard Work, Problem Solving, and other initiatives as they arise
* Flexible and willing to work overtime as necessary
