YOU As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for guiding, directing and coaching warehouse employees to meet on time delivery standards with minimal errors. Provides work direction and leadership to warehouse employees within the guidelines of standard work rules and employment policies. Oversees day-to-day operations of warehouse group including making personnel changes and addressing performance, behavior and policy compliance. This position works Friday- Sunday, 6:00AM - 6:00PM, with OT, as needed. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time) Plans and schedules the warehouse team to meet customer demands. Achieves warehouse goals at the required level of quality. Communicates with staff to ensure smooth flow of information and product to achieve warehouse goals. Communicates with Warehouse Manager where necessary in order to modify and improve efficiency. Monitors warehouse processes and proactively identifies and addresses barriers. Trouble shoots and problem solves through root cause analysis. Communicates with other departments and helps drive better working relations. (30%) Lead, motivate and direct employees using effective performance management techniques, including establishing expectations and goals, providing recognition and feedback, and addressing performance problems. Coach, encourage, and develop employees according to their unique interests and strengths. Empower employees to take responsibility for their career and performance. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback. Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members and the organization. (30%) Manage the warehouse through the Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle of the Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI) in a way that supports the concept of continuous improvement. Manage and train employees on Lean program. Measure and report results to Leadership on a regular basis. (20%) Consistently exemplify the highest of safety standards and monitor others to the same standards. Coordinate with other departments to meet objectives. Ensure that all Simpson policies and procedures are adhered to by all teammates. Reviews and edits employee timecards. Approves and denies employee time off requests. Works with the Human Resources department for staffing needs and conducts first face to face interviews. Develops or modifies training procedure and keeps track of all training. (10%) Monitor, manage and prioritize shipping and receiving activities to ensure goals are attained and standards met. Support Simpson's Lead program. Approve work orders, monitor backorders and manage on-site raw materials. Annual participation in inventories. YOU As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for supporting Production and Operational needs while focusing on problem solving, troubleshooting and maintaining material handling equipment such as conveyors, sortation systems, stamping presses, ancillary equipment, feedline machines, scales and all support equipment. The Category Manager is responsible for developing and executing Sourcing Strategy for their assigned categories. Recommending supplier selection and negotiating with suppliers based on the long term category sourcing and business product strategy and TCO. Establishing and maintaining contractual and business relationships with the suppliers. Communicating with Business Units and Corporate Department influencers and users on the selection. What You'll Do: * Frequent and successful negotiations of machinery and related services * Ability to facilitate the purchasing process of many different projects simultaneously * Ability to collaborate with multiple areas of the business on each project * Project Management- Having a completely transparent understanding of where the projects are at in status * Project Management- Being able to effectively report various project statuses at any time * Ability to proactively drive results and effective project completion with little direction * Establishing strong relationships with internal business stakeholders; building a strong understanding of strategic business direction, requirements, and priorities across assigned suppliers and/or spend categories. * Developing global sourcing strategies to deliver against business objectives for internal clients. * Evaluating supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models and bench-marking analysis. * Managing the fundamentals of sourcing and supplier engagement activities including RFx, spend pattern analysis, contract analysis, bid evaluation, negotiations, and supplier consolidation. * Identifying sourcing opportunities by leveraging spend analysis tools and engage with stakeholders to consolidate requirements over categories, suppliers and geographies. * Work with business and finance leaders to identify and drive savings and controllership improvements, focusing on total cost of ownership. * Providing guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement strategies * Prepare and hold business reviews with stakeholders to review vendor performance, future opportunities, and/or challenges * May be required to travel up to 50% of the time. What We're Looking For: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Knowledge of computer programs, including Microsoft Office, Visio, BW, LiveLink * Advanced knowledge of ERP systems; SAP * Expert knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain processes, matrix or strategic pricing, and supplier markets. * Strong negotiator with proven experience in setting negotiation strategies and conducting negotiations. * Extensive knowledge of the basic types of commercial agreement structures and the function and purpose of key legal terms. * Strong experience assessing risk and concisely explaining complex issues to principal business owners. * Extremely customer-focused and takes the time to understand the needs of the business. * Experience working in a large, global, highly matrixed organization. * Strong analytical skills including the ability to quickly synthesize, distill and draw conclusions on large amounts of disparate data. * Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills. * Excellent written and oral communication skills. * Passionate self-starter with the highest integrity and ethics. Responsibilities include: * Analyzing manufacturing equipment for opportunities to improve reliability as measured by such items as reduction in frequency of repetitive failures. * Reduction in downtime incidents and the duration of such incidents. * Assisting supervisors and craftsmen in trouble shooting machine issues and repairs. * Developing and managing projects for equipment installation and preventative maintenance. * Developing preventative/predictive maintenance programs for new and existing equipment and training programs. * Developing and maintaining electrical documentation for production equipment. Qualified candidates will have: * Experience in a manufacturing environment. * Thorough understanding and demonstrated hands on experience configuring, programming and troubleshooting PLC's, HMI's and variable speed drives. * Basic knowledge of AC and DC motors and power distribution. * Familiarity with relevant codes: NEC, OSHA, and ANSI. * Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment. * Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably BSEE or BSEET. * Must be a proven team player, catalyst for change, strong communicator and have solid organizational skills, good time management and administrative skills. * Good computer skills and the ability to effectively use various information systems necessary. * Must possess excellent communication and effective coaching skills. * Work with the IT group to optimize and integrate the machine network to meet the demands of manufacturing.
