The full time Pharmacy Technician at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Ca will perform a variety of tasks under the supervision of a pharmacist. From inpatient and outpatient positions, to sterile compounding, and transitions of care, the start of your Pharmacy Career at Cedars-Sinai is around the corner!
What's this role all about?
Prepares, delivers, and distributes medications in an accurate and timely manner to appropriate care areas according to policies and procedures, while at the same time prioritizing workflow and maintaining required documentation
Uses technology safely and effectively to prepare, distribute, deliver and refill medications and services to patients
Effectively uses the electronic medical record to support patient care
Prepares accurate and timely compounded sterile products appropriate to area following policies and procedures, best practices and standards of practice
Assists pharmacists with patient medication reconciliation functions, including screening of patients, obtaining medication lists, and documentation of medication reconciliation activities
Communicates effectively with members of the healthcare team and patients, and willingly participates in new initiatives and tasks as needed to support patient care
Performs inventory control functions
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED required
Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the California State Board of Pharmacy
Ability to perform pharmacy calculations involving ratios, proportions and percentages
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to use software applications and operate technological devices
Ability to interpret and apply knowledge of State, Federal and Agency standards to comply with regulations
Previous hospital experience preferred

Assist all pharmacy and front store customers with their questions and concerns

Description Of Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of a Clinical Pharmacist and consistent with California state pharmacy regulations to provide non-discretionary tasks, the Pharmacy Desk Technician prepares Specialty Pharmacy orders for filling, maintains work areas, follows up on narcotic scripts, and enters medication profiles in a timely manner.

1. Refills:
· Placing calls to the patient to coordinate a timely and accurate delivery of pharmaceuticals and supplies.
· Communicate with nurses/home health agencies to confirm infusion dates
· Request lab results from doctors, laboratories, and home health agencies.
2. Perform data entry:
· Perform data entry of patient medication profiles and patient chart audits
· Discharge patients from CPR+ at the end of therapy
3. Pharmacy Liaison:
· Act as liaison for the Pharmacy department
· Communicate with doctors, nurses, and hospitals regarding patient care
· Perform triplicate request and being able to follow up in a timely matter
· Being able to communicate well with the pharmacy staff and supervisor
· Coordinate triplicate requests and their documentation as appropriate including exemption forms for all narcotic patients
4. Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies.
5. Participate in the pharmacy's Performance Improvement program as requested by the Performance Improvement Coordinator.
6. Participate in pharmacy committees when requested.
7. Participate in in-service education programs provided by the pharmacy.
8. Pursue continuing education programs appropriate to job responsibilities and certification requirements.
9. Report any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the Compliance Officer.
10. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Resolve third party rejections and complete any manual claim forms
Perform all prescription pick-up procedures, in adherence of CVS policy and procedures
Access, input and retrieve any necessary information to/from the workstation
Maintain in-stock by ensuring all inventory management policies and procedures are followed utilizing appropriate report(s) to maintain replenishment as needed
Assist with putting away drug orders (except Clls) as permitted by law
Deliver additional health care services as allowable by state regulation, individual certification, and as directed by pharmacy leadership team, including but not limited to point-of-care and/or swab-and-send testing, immunization preparation and/or delivery, etc.
Support supervising pharmacist in furtherance of dispensing drugs, reviewing prescriptions, and monitoring compliance.
Counseling under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist:
Offer to counsel and direct customer to pharmacist if necessary
Field any medical questions when appropriate
Communicate and interact with all healthcare professionals to provide optimal care
When applicable, solicit information on a customer's medical history to give appropriate medical advice
Practice and develop duties performed by pharmacists according to law

Participate in all required store operational meetings
Support maintaining a clean, organized, and professional pharmacy department, according to CVS standards

Job Summary: Under close supervision, the Radiologic Technologist (Multi-Modality) performs a variety of duties in the Department of Radiology/ Imaging Services of Alameda Health System related to general Radiography/Fluoroscopy. Performs various diagnostic imaging examinations of patients as directed for diagnostic and treatment purposes according to established procedures. Performs related duties as required.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: NOTE: The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification, however, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification.
1. Assists Physician in administering opaque media (contrast)
2. Rotates assignments within the department by assigned shifts as required to meet departmental needs
3. Processes Images as appropriate for Modality (CR/DR/Film) and is proficient in utilizing the PACS system (Picture Archival Communications)
4. Maintains adequate records of examinations/dose/contrast as directed, and appropriately utilizing two patient identifier with each patient exam
5. Assists with movement of patients (rooming/transport)
6. Assists in the development/optimization of technical factors for radiographic procedures
7. May assist in equipment or procedures not routinely taught in school
8. May assist in the training of students
9. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with designate areas or procedures as required
10. Performs all general diagnostic and routine fluoroscopic duties as determined by employer.
11. Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination
12. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of environment and supplies
13. Ensure utilization of non expired supplies by checking stock regularly and using "first in first out" rule of re stocking
14. Produces Radiographs, positions and transfers patients, and provides immobilization devices as necessary to obtain images
15. Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed radiation safety standards.
16. Ensure utilizing techniques that promote ALARA on an individual patient basis (As Low as Reasonably Achieved) for radiation exposure
17. Selects and operates all imaging equipment as directed and licensed to perform.

Pay Range $66.47- $83.96
The pay range for this position reflects the base pay scale for the role at Alameda Health System. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, departmental equity, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and the operational needs of the organization.
