Familiarity and comfort with X, Facebook and Instagram are required, and the candidate should be able to think creatively about social posts and must understand how social media is essential to a news organization. The producer should also be willing to adapt, experiment and follow new developments in social media. Requirements: Previous experience in a local newsroom, especially on a digital platform or in local television news, is strongly preferred. Producers must be able to respond to breaking news with speed, writing and juggling multiple stories throughout the day and producing clean copy without the support of a copy editor. The ability to continually update and rewrite stories with the newest information - while promptly posting updates on the station's social media accounts - is a must. Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in news required. The candidate must have excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written. The candidate must be flexible about scheduling: The position involves work at various times of the day, including early mornings, nights, weekends and some holidays, as well as last-minute requests to fill in for other producers' sick calls. The producer's schedule may change depending on KTLA's needs.
