Department/Location: Pastoral Services Department/St. Augustine Cathedral, Tucson, AZ
Primary Function: Under the direction of the Diocesan and Cathedral Director of Liturgical Music is responsible for singing in the Schola for some Sunday services and diocesan liturgical celebrations. A schola member shall be a minister of the Gospel and Catholic teaching both academically and behaviorally while at work and in personal life. "Live in a manner worthy of the call you have received." (Eph. 4:1)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform as a lay minister in support of the parishs spiritual and pastoral mission.
Shall abide by Catholic principles in the singers professional and private life, and shall govern his/her professional and private life in strict accordance with Catholic morals and principles to demonstrate complete adherence to Catholic moral strictures;
Perform as a singer for the assigned musical events.
Maintain Church protocol including maintaining an environment of respect and solemnity at all liturgical celebrations
Maintain open communications with volunteer musicians
Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical/Mental Requirements: Requires coordination and manual dexterity, normal mental and visual ability; ability to lift as required in a normal musical environment.
