SAIC is seeking an **Ordnance Facility Site Planner** in **Crane, IN** to support the **Naval Support Activity (NSA)** Crane, Crane Army Ammunition Activity (CAAA) in developing technical documentation to support CAAA operations.
**NOTE: This is a pipeline position for future openings with our Crane, IN team.**

JOB DESCRIPTION:

+ Prepare, submit, and support new site approvals for CAAA's Manufacturing and Engineering (ME) Directorate

+ Assist in the submittal of the site approval to the Department of Defense Explosive Safety Board [DDESB] for approval using the standard Explosive Safety Siting (ESS) program

+ Ensure the proposed facility or altered facility is in accordance with the CAAA Master Plan, available on Government systems

+ Assist the Explosive Safety Officer in answering inquiries on the site approval request as it moves through the review channels

+ Gather the basic requirements from the customer concerning specific projects and determine the feasibility of establishing the desired new or altered facility at Crane including prime locations and alternate locations if applicable

+ Ensure the proposed facility or altered facility is in accordance with plans including but not limited to the Ordnance Master Plan, Installation Development Plan, etc. Once government approval of these requirements and feasibility recommendations occurs, these will be used to develop a variety of construction and SRM projects

+ Provide an executive summary of the project including concept designs and cost estimates

**Qualifications**

**REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:**

+ Bachelors and six (6) years or more of related experience in ordnance facility planning and explosive safety; experience accepted in lieu of degree

**REQUIRED SKILLS:**

+ Familiarity with DoD ordnance facilities, operations, techniques, and processes

+ Specialization in ordnance facility site planning to comply with all relevant DoD standards and methods

+ Must be able to read and understand facility site schematics and building design plans

+ Knowledgeable in the aspects of DoD explosive safety related to facility planning, siting, and associated regulatory compliance

**REQUIRED CLEARANCE:**

+ Must be able to obtain a full Secret Clearance; an Interim Secret is required to start, SAIC will help to obtain

The Insulation Group's facility at CertainTeed Machine Works fabricates and assembles various machines for customers installing insulation. The Site Buyer/Planner is responsible for managing all purchasing and compliance functions for the facility. This position will perform all purchasing activity and negotiate payment terms. This role will also focus on cost savings, implementation and adherence to global compliance and utilization of digital tools while providing timely service to our customers. The role will need to work closely with the Inventory Manager, Customer Service/Sales, and Production to ensure parts availability and proper forecasting.

The main duties of this role are:

* Monitoring raw material consumption and inventory levels via SAP ERP
* Planning and ordering raw materials to achieve the production schedule and maintain optimal inventory levels
* Utilize MRP system to plan and schedule current and future manufacturing of parts and components while also setting and maintaining local MRP settings for material and components.
* Managing and resolving invoice exceptions in IOL System (Invoices-On-Line) and working on resolving root-causes of invoice discrepancies including support for Goods Received Invoice Received (GRIR)
* Notifies vendors of non-conforming material issues, requests corrective actions with plant Engineering department, and coordinates RMAs
* Owning regular reporting for purchasing KPIs and plant-specific metrics.
* Serve as a gatekeeper for purchasing policy compliance and adherence to internal control requirements at the site.

This position reports to the Purchasing Manager for the Insulation Group.

Required Qualifications

What do you bring?

* Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent experience is required
* 5+ years' experience in purchasing, inventory management, and/or manufacturing activities.
* Excellent computer skills; including Microsoft Office Suite.
* Working knowledge of SAP systems (Strongly Preferred)
* Comfortable working independently and in a team environment
* Experience using continuous improvement tools
* Prior experience in purchasing a wide variety of manufacturing components
