This position will report to the StructureCraft Builders Site Superintendent or Project Manager to deliver high quality wood structures safely, on time and on budget. What you'll do General Responsibilities: Represent the best interests of the company at all times. Grow relationships that are open, collaborative, professional, sustainable, and innovative. Take the time to do it right the first time. Lead by example, without exception. Communicate openly, regularly, timely and professionally (verbal, written, and email). Pre-Construction Responsibilities: Assist with the preparation and planning of a project safety plan, project quality control plan, project schedule and budget, sub-trade scopes of work and erection plan, budget, and schedule. Review and comment on tender drawings and specifications. Attend any or all pre-bid meetings and note and report deviations. Review and comment on tender submissions and recommendations. Construction Responsibilities: Lead, schedule, coordinate and supervise the daily activities of the on-site team members: StructureCraft employees (supervisor, carpenters, others) and sub-trades. Ensure on-site team members have completed a safety orientation and all training necessary to perform their respective duties safely, in accordance with company safety policies and applicable government regulations. Provide First Aid coverage on site. Maintain a safe, orderly, and clean site and site office. Manage the documentation control process (hardcopies on site and electronic copies on server). Follow up with consultants and sub-trades as required and report cost or schedule implications. Maintain a detailed Site Report and submit daily. Maintain project budget and schedule and immediately report any anticipated deviations. Review with Project Manager, sign-off on, and submit monthly invoices and draws. Ensure construction best practices and compliance to IFC drawings and specifications are adhered to. Ensure erection plans, lifting details, and equipment are stamped by P. Eng. prior to use. Survey, establish, and maintain project limits and property lines. Source materials and/or services as required and request a purchase order when needed. Maintain architectural and structural as-builts and check on the accuracy and completeness over the course of the job. Schedule and attend required inspections. Schedule and coordinate required material testing (compaction, rebar, concrete, other). Take and upload progress pictures regularly and often. Prepare, issue, and log requests for information. Schedule and coordinate mock-ups as required. Maintain approved material samples in site trailer and confirm compliance on site. Assist with the collection and submission of samples for approval. Sign-off on time and materials (T&M) work daily. Schedule and coordinate with authorities and utilities. Schedule and coordinate site security, garbage, and portable toilet pick-up Assist with hands-on construction as needed. Close Out Responsibilities: Prepare, issue, and follow up on deficiency lists. Position Requirements At minimum, five years of construction-related experience. Five or more years of direct supervisory experience on construction sites. Collaborates with other network lab managers/network technical specialists to ensures all policies and procedures at the site are in accordance with network and lab accrediting/licensing agencies' standards. 4. The site manager is ultimately responsible for regulatory compliance and site inspections. 5. Ensures proficiency testing meets laboratory accrediting agencies' standards and appropriate follow up and resolution is performed. 6. Coordinates with other network lab managers/network technical specialists to initiate and design method and instrument evaluations. 7. Supervises the maintenance of instrumentation and ensures that resources are available for troubleshooting technical and instrument operations. 8. Prepares the daily work schedule to ensure adequate staffing. Adjusts staffing to accommodate unscheduled staffing concerns. Responsible for FTE productivity. 9. Assumes financial accountability for revenue/compliance, work ques and site capital needs. Explains budget variances in STRATA. Maintains cost effective inventory and efficient use of resources and daily procedures, processes and practices. 10. Performs laboratory tests according to established protocols as scheduled. Maintains competency in at least one workbench assignment. 11. Maintains effective communication within the department through site meetings and meetings with Laboratory Medical Director, Laboratory Administrator, and entity leadership. 12. Serves on various hospital/laboratory committees. 13. Other related duties as assigned. May be responsible for a maximum of two individual sites. 14. Delegates responsibilities and duties to employees at the site so the site runs smoothly in manager's absence. 15. Assists LIS analysts in resolving computer problems; maintains computer operations at the site. Ensures competency of staff for downtime procedures. 16. Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information. 17. Other related duties as assigned. PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Sitting up to 7 hours per day in 2 hour increments. Standing up to 5 hours per day in 2 hour increments. Walking up to 7 hours per day in short increments. EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in a chemical or biological science or medical technology from an accredited institution. ASCP eligible.
