Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned) This is a safety sensitive position. * Manage and supervise mining department technical operations and resources. * Ensure mine and workplace safety. Adhere to all Federal, State, Local and Acme Brick policies and procedures. * Ensure "ASTM" and "ACME" quality standards are met. Ensure customer satisfaction and customer service. * Ensure production budgeted figures are met. Meet Green, Yield, Packaged, Loaded, and % loss. * Maintain budgeted departmental composite cost. Control labor dollars, man hours, overtime, repair, and operation spending in the department. * Oversee planning, execution and control of departmental and plant resources, procedures and material handling. * Oversee the administration and security of property, machinery, equipment, employees, tools, procedures, and buildings. * Be in control of strategic and situational goals, action plans, funding requirements, and schedules that effect production, cost, safety, and quality for both the short term and long term. Operate the department effectively and continuously improve performance. * Oversee the selection, development, performance and management of hourly employees. * Oversee and ensure all required reporting is being completed. There are Federal, State, and Company requirements covering all areas of operation. ie...MSHA, OSHA, Safety, Quality, Production, Composite Cost, Labor, Man hours, Inventory, and Plant/Departmental maintenance and operational checks. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Must possess a deep understanding of AEM's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Health & Safety Management System and ensure project operations are consistently adhering to these procedures. As the site safety ambassador, you will be expected to ensure all work is conducted in a safe and healthy manner, ensure the weekly safety meeting are managed, attend client safety meetings as required and uphold the AEM safety policies and described in the SOP. Oversee the work, progress and productivity of AEM personnel assigned to the site or project. Generate Inspection Progress Reports and distribute as per site-specific distribution lists. Perform daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly QA/QC activities in accordance with AEM's SOP. The testing devices are carried in a backpack. Other tools and equipment are carried on a tool belt or in pockets.
