TA Travel Center/LV Petroleum is expanding and looking for a *Site General Manager* at our brand new *West Wendover, NV* travel center. The following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.
*NOTE: If you do not have experience in running a truck stop/travel center, you will not be considered.*
The Site General Manager will be responsible for day-to-day operations pertaining to all site functions. The Site GM will hire, train, coach, mentor, and work alongside all store employees including all other managers. Building a culture of accountability while keeping turnover low is critical to the site's success. The Site General Manager will be expected to maintain store image standards, customer service standards, food safety and freshness standards; provide clean lot, pumps, restrooms and showers. This position will require someone with a thorough Food Service/QSR understanding including food cost, labor cost, shrink and waste management techniques and how each relates to and impacts overall profitability.
*Responsibilities*
· Follow all company policies and procedures as well as all city, county and state regulations pertaining to age restricted sales, food safety, and fuel compliance.
· Display ability to budget and forecast P&L lines while also understanding and maintaining company merchandise margin strategy and fuel margin/pricing strategy.
· Provide leadership to all site level management, including QSR managers, by modeling expected performance and directing all managers in their work activities to meet or exceed budget.
· Responsible for providing the proper training, development, and supervision of all staff to ensure the profitability, environmental protection, site maintenance, safety and efficient operation of the site per company policy and procedures.
· Analyze food cost, labor cost, shrink, and waste in real time making adjustments as needed to ensure profitability.
· Possess ability to conduct inventory audits and implement inventory controls for both the Truck Stop and QSRs.
· Provide leadership to the entire store team, including Food Service/QSR employees and managers.
· Establish and maintain fuel safety and food quality/safety standards ensuring adherence to all local, State, and federal safety regulations.
· Display initiative in improving store, employee, and personal performance.
· Recruit, hire, train, and coach in order to build a positive and enthusiastic staff ensuring excellent customer service.
· Establish on-going communication meetings with all store employees and management regarding safety, employment issues, store goals etc.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Under the direction of Management, is responsible for overall operation of their location(s). Supervisors provide direction for the Runners, and Servers. They oversee all stand operations and implement all company policies during the event.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reports for scheduled events on time, in proper uniform, with a neat and clean personal appearance.
Must maintain a friendly, positive attitude and a professional demeanor at all times.
Analyzes and resolves all problems that have occurred, and foresees and is proactive regarding any possible issues.
Works with staff to control spoilage and waste and have product meet Board of Health regulations.
Ensures that all work stations and the back of stand and storerooms remain clean and sufficiently stocked. Orders replacement stock as necessary.
Efficiently and accurately completes required paperwork.
Replaces empty kegs with full ones.
Ensures staff keeps a quality appearance of the location at all times.
Enforces correct alcohol policies and procedures.
At closing, makes sure all servers are properly checked out, voids are verified, and staff is working diligently to close stand efficiently.
Must be knowledgeable of all positions and willing and able to fill any position in the location if needed.
Performs and completes other duties as assigned by management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Previous experience within food and beverage required; prior supervisory experience is helpful; training is provided.
Must be able to work long periods of time with constant standing, walking, and lifting.
Must be able to remain calm under stressful situations.
Must be able to smile, maintain positive body language, and consistently provide positive guest service.
Must be able to make generalizations, evaluations, and decisions without immediate supervision.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 18 years old
Must be able to obtain CA Food Handlers Certification
Must be able to obtain RBS (alcohol) Certification
Must be willing to work hours that vary, according to the event schedule
Must be able to work at a fast pace
Must be able to lift and to carry up to 50 lbs. as well as move and transport full beer kegs.
Practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies and procedures and regulations, complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific safety training.
