Assisting Tax Site Manager with the day-to-day operation of a free volunteer income tax assistant (VITA) site.
Helping with supervision, scheduling and managing tax preparers, intake staff and quality reviewers for the season, ensuring all volunteers have obtained the necessary certifications.
Conduct Quality Reviews of returns filed by fellow tax preparers as needed.
Assist in site management including maintaining confidentiality, client services, tax return review and transmission, and volunteer relations
Provides support and guidance to volunteer and paid staff who prepare tax returns for low and moderate-income taxpayers.
Assisting with tax preparation when necessary.
Completing the Volunteer Standards of Conduct, Intake/Interview/Quality Review, Site Coordinator, advanced IRS Tax Law
Ensuring services are provided on a timely basis
Provide administrative support including: Copying, sending emails, answering and returning phone calls, creating name tags.
II. QUALIFICATIONS
Bilingual English/Spanish skills required
College degree or some college and experience working in a similar setting are highly preferred
A general understanding of income tax law is required
Successful completion of the IRS advanced course is required to provide quality control, support, and guidance to volunteers and paid staff
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, and display a supportive and professional disposition with diverse populations
Comfort with technology (computers, software, internet platforms, etc)
Self-motivated with a high degree of flexibility, creativity, and independence
Flexible schedule (position will require weekend/evening work)
